Well, with seeing many reviews of the Mattel Backstage set, I can't help but to just pass on it. 52 for cardboard? I mean, the Raw stage at least is mostly plastic AND lights up! For that price, it should at least make some sound. I can just pick up the furniture eventually on the bay. Seeing as how cardboard just never lasted more than a few months to a year.
Anyway, one of the big reasons I wanted that set was because of how bad my Mayhem set looked. it had burn marks on it, smelled like smoke, pieces have been missing on it for ages etc. It was disgusting to look at. So, I did some nice thinking and came up with a nice plan. Seeing as how this was an attitude era based project, I figured let's get creative and original with this. To me, Jakks was very popular with deep thinking and creativity. Why else would a Chris Jericho come with a hockey stick?
Now on the set, here is what it looks like now.
I painted it black and red because that is what the colors were at this time. As well as put posters of the stars of that era and new logos in the respected places, (Since I don't have the wall pieces, I just cut part of an unmatched fury box and placed it there.
More posters on the side
As well as on the back. I feel the black and red was smart mostly because the color scheme here is blue with a beige/goldish color which were the colors of the old WWF logo so in a sense, it's saying that the Golden Age was fading away as the Attitude Era and it's linage was here to stay!
Steve: Hey Pepsi Punk, want some beer? Punk: Um steve, you do know I am Straight Edge right? Steve: What? Punk: I don't drink Steve: What? Punk: I don't do Drugs. Steve: What?
Vince: SHUTTTTTTTTTTTT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Vince: I don't care if this isn't the WWE, you can't do this I'M VINCE McMAHON DAMNIT!!!
Steve: Hey Vince, here's to ya!
All in all, I hope you all like the turn out as much as I do. I know it has a sloppy look but here's the thing, That is the gimmick!
Rate/Hate :-)
