Bryan Cranston is the best actor today period. And that's not just my opinion, the critics all agree. Not sure why you guys all wanna see no names as Luthor. Anyone against Cranston playing a villian obviously only knows his work from Malcom in the Middle.

Cranston is amazing but definitely not Lex Luthor. Are the guys casting this just basing it on the face his character went through chemo in Breaking Bad? He has the ability for sure but he is too old to go against Cavill. I think he'd make the perfect Jim Gordon. I doubt this will happen anyway, it's all speculation. My top choice is Mark Strong. After that I still hold hope that Clancy Brown could get it, but I fear he is too old. Cranston is certainly a choice I would not be against, but I'm not certain I'm really for it either. YES! I ing love Mark Strong. Only problem with that would be that he played Sinestro, but he would make a fantastic Luthor. He'd make a fantastic anyone to be honest, but he certainly looks like a villain.

I'm a huge fan of Cranston (more for MITM than BD) so I'm okay with this.

Disagree with every word of this terrible post (except for the part about the unknown, because I agree that there are a ton of name actors that would be great in the part).
Cranston is among the best actors today but he's hardly the consensus choice. I don't even think he's the best dramatic actor... on AMC. As long as Jon Hamm is on TV as Don Draper, he's my pick as the most talented actor on TV. And all villains are not created equal. The only thing Walter White and Lex Luthor have in common are that they're both usually bald. But to me, Cranston is too old and lacks a lot of the charm that a politicking Lex Luthor would have to have. Even if Cranston was the definitive best actor alive, that still doesn't mean he'd be a fit.
You know who'd be absolutely brilliant in this role that nobody's mentioned? Walton Goggins. But he'd look ridiculous if he was bald.

Speaking of Hamm, I think he'd make a decent Lex Luthor.

Would much rather see him as Jim Gordon. Glad to see I'm not alone in that

I'll never think of anybody other than Michael Rosenbaum as Lex, same for Tom Welling as Superman, and Erica Durance as Lois Lane.

I don't see him ever getting to play Sinestro again and I don't people would recognize him, so I don't really see that being a problem. Of course, casting people might, so who knows.

I genuinely think the GL story with Reynolds and Strong is finished.
so I would LOVE to see Strong as Luthor.

Was Cranston confirmed today? I saw a lot of "Lex Luthor" and "Bryan Cranston" trending today.

Not confirmed right now. An unreliable website, Cosmic Book News, reported a 10-movie deal for Cranston and a bunch of media outlets are regurgitating it as fact, but DC/WB has not made any sort of comment on Luthor casting as of yet.
Personally, I'd be thrilled if they locked Luthor/Batman for 10 and 13 movies, but no agent in Hollywood is going to advise their clients to take deals like that.

10 MOVIE DEAL??? Cranston wont live that long, unless they pump out a movie once every year/other year.
