At 41:30 you will see Rock do a move that was called the Maivia hurricane in one of the wrestling games for playstaion one. I don't remember JR or anyone ever calling the move that. This was a move Rock used a lot in his early days, and imo, the best move in his aresenal. Very athletic. He quit using it at some point however. Not sure if the real name is hurricane ddt or tornado ddt........

I've always heard them call that one just a wraparound DDT or something to that effect. I had forgotten the name of it, but I remember hearing people call it Maivia Hurricane. Maybe they stopped calling it that to distance himself from the Rocky Maivia name and keep him moving in the direction of simply being called The Rock.
That move was a really cool one to see, though. Rock was always able to do some really athletic stuff, even early on when he stopped coming off the top rope with splashes and drop kicks, he was still a great athlete in so many ways that you didn't miss any of the high-flying stuff.

That move was in WWF Warzone I believe they called it a Tornado DDT in the game. Thank god Acclaim doesn't make games for WWE anymore. But anyways, I think its the coolest looking DDT

Always liked that move.
Never knew it was once called the Maivia Hurricane. I just thought it was a float over DDT.

I spammed the living sh*t out of that move in War Zone.
Coming clean 15 years later.

Its legacy lives on in the running grapple of everybody in the WWE games for the last five years.

Yeah I liked that DDT, to bad he replaced it with his arm twist DDT that he did later on in his career. I also liked his flying clothesline he would do circa 2001.

The Rock used that move quite a bit. I never heard it called "The Maivia Hurricane" though.
