Toys across the board are seeing a sick increase in cost. I had to walk awayfrom Hot toys because some figures have increased from $199-$299. Star wars 3.75 are going from $9.99 to $14.99. I’m about done collecting all together. Not to get too much into politics, but if we get into a trade war with China, nobody is going to be collecting toys. The industry is already over inflated. I jumped out of Play Arts when they went from normal pricing of $40-50 a figure to $150 a figure, virtually overnight. I think that's the kind of increase we will be looking at if manufacturers have to start paying 25%+ tariffs on bringing in goods. That takes every $20 figure and makes them $25, just to cover the import cost. Hasbro and Mattel would absolutely pass that cost onto the retailers and the retailers push it onto the consumer. I know every collector has a line they draw in the sand but you really start asking yourself what is the actual worth of these things when they start pulling these kind of stunts with pricing. I think most assume it's a test to see if the market can sustain a price increase. I for one don't think it can. If anything, it seems like more collectors than ever are waiting out price drops and sales. Don't even get me started on Star Wars. The Vintage Collection stuff has been handled so poorly that nobody who collects that line owes Hasbro an ounce of loyalty at this point imo. I work in the Oring/Seal industry. We buy for pennies on the dollar and charge an insane mark up for profit. We could easily charge double our cost and probably scoop up millions extra in buisness. The issue is, when the top dogs of a conpaby are making hundreds of thousands, they want millions. Hot Toys for instance was once an unlicensed customs company. In the past 4-5 years figures have climbed from $169 for a Predator to $269. Iron Man was a fully loaded for $205 and now its around $299 and if you want die cast, its over $400. I was high on hasbro’s horse last month for the Sail Barge, but ince I took off the shades, I realized, they could easily have funded this and made it an online exclusive for $350. But no, they expect $2.5M in 45 days or you don’t get it? A multi million dollar company using kickstarter tactics?

I want that Barge, but this is the thing I'm really struggling with over the whole deal. A year-end report just came out that Star Wars sales are down and the line isn't selling up to Hasbro's standards. So instead of incentivising the fans who have been spending their money on Star Wars with a cool, largely affordable, vehicle we've always wanted, they're kind of taking advantage of our fandom.

Was looking thru the Toyfair pics, and am I mistaken or are Ant Man and Wasp MCU figures getting a 2-pack and in the 2nd Avengers wave. Seems odd. They're getting single releases and 1st movie Antman is in one of the $50 MCU 10 Year anniversary 2-packs with Yellowjacket. The single Paul Rudd has a smirking head and the 2-pack has a serious expression. Also the 2 pack is comics Ant-Man, and his daughter.

How many waves a year does Hasbro normally put out with the Marvel Legends? 6 waves, SDCC set, and 5-7 store exclusives. On average. But this year's releases, and planned releases, are blowing that away.

After 3 hours of hunting and 7 locations (wal marts targets and TRU) on my very last stop 20 minutes before closing I was able to buy the entire avengers wave (minus iron man, didn’t feel the need for him right away plus I feel like he’ll warm pretty hard if I want him down the road) at Walmart I was so pumped it really paid off this time great set and the MCU Thanos is one of the best BAF to date! Now gotta buy the Sasquatch and lizard waves

Is it easier to find these figures in stores than it is finding WWE elites?

Is it easier to find these figures in stores than it is finding WWE elites? Really just depends. Deadpool from the Juggernaut wave I only saw the one I bought when Target pulled a fresh case. Cyclops from Warlock wave I saw maybe twice. Basically it’s very similar to WWE Mattel where some stores get a ton of one or two waves and rot (like Target and Walmart). Other stores like GameStop or TRU will have more variety probably but there’s usually the one to three figures people really want and then the rest warms. MCU figures and classic X-Men seem to move the fastest.

Is it easier to find these figures in stores than it is finding WWE elites? Generally speaking yes, at least in my experience I’ve always been able to find a good portion of waves at wal marts and TRU however finding the ENTIRE wave is highly unlikely I have gotten very lucky on a few occasions to be the first guy in a store to a fresh full wave and capitalize on it but it’s pretty rare, wwe figs are just so shotty as to how many and which ones so I buy all my non exclusive elites off RSC distribution is generally much more spread out evenly with the legends

Anyone think we will get a better Cap head released from Hasbro? The one they just released doesn’t look thag great.. This one is probably their best attempt at Evans likeness, but they have never gotten it correct. And at this point I don’t think they ever will. I think the Figuarts version looks very good.

Got Songbird and Iron Spider from GameStop. Had all but Cap and Iron Man but for $23 each can wait on rest. Local Target had no new Avengers Legends.

Ok so question for any Gentle Giant LTD Marvel Statue collectors.
I’m trying to figure out how big 1/8 scale exactly is. I have looked online and seeing that they range anywhere between 6 to 8 inches tall. I decided to pre-order the wolverine 1980s 1/8 scale statue. I also saw that they have a gladiator hulk statue that is 1/8 scale but in the description from spamS, they list it as also being 18.50 inches tall. Can anyone confirm in inches how tall the statues actually are? Thanks

Scored at Target today! They had the whole wave minus mysterio. Just grabbed these 3 for now with their $12.29 sale. First time seeing these anywhere around me. What $12.29 sale? Was just in there today and yesterday and no such sale.

my pickups for the $12 sale @ target just now! only needed the lizard body from spider-woman, so $12 for a (newer released) torso ain’t bad

What’s the best way to display your Marvel Legends? Some of the ones I just bought keep falling over. Will the display stands ringside sells also work with these figures?

Thinking of starting a ML collection. Solely planned to start with a Spider-Man only collection.
In all honesty, is it too late to hop into this line?
