Did anyone listen to the Ric Flair interview on Steve Austins podcast a few weeks back? Is Ric Flair deluded or what?? Austin asked him how does he feel physically and could he go again in WWE....Ric said while he's a mess cosmetically he feels great and would love to fight Cena!! Austin paused in the interview when Flair said that lol, he must have been thinking what on earth is Ric on? Flair actually thinks him vs Cena would draw tickets forgetting the fact that HBK retired him (from WWE not TNA ofcourse) so its also a slap in the face in that regard. I was astounded because Flair was serious, he must be flat broke and desperate to get a pay day against Cena. The guy is like 64 and thinks he could headline WMXXX against Cena. Amazing, you know i have a few Flair dvds and am a big fan but listening to him lately is just sad. His last match was against Sting in TNA where he tore his tricep as well. How deluded can one person be.

Flair said that because Cena is one of the few people he has yet to face. And yes it would draw, Flair vs anyone would draw.

Ric Flair is more over than 90% of the current WWE roster. A PPV with Flair vs Cena, Sheamus or CM Punk would be more interesting than what they are putting out right now.

I really don't think Flair vs Anyone would draw any more than Hogan vs Anyone would draw. Both guys are over the hill and are little more than parodies of what they used to be. Flair has no business wrestling anyone.

Yes, Flair is mega broke. I read a piece on Grantland about how broke he really is. The alimony alone puts him in the hole.
He's trying to hold on to any aspect of wrestling spotlight he can direct towards him. I think that was a large part of his WWE 2k14 symposium rambling rant.
If you watched the episode of 'Celebrity Wife Swap' with Piper and him, you will understand how bad it is.

At the end of the day if he didnt have money theres no way that gold digger would be on his arm.

That was a long ass article. I can't believe I read it all. I had no idea Flair was that much of a train wreck. I knew the guy had problems, but I really thought he got them all sorted out a few years ago. Apparently not.

idk what's more likely, Flair vs. Cena or people posting WWE threads in the WWE Board and not the Lounge Board.
Probably the former.

If Ric Flair were taking good care of himself physically - I'd have no problem with him getting in the ring for an occasional match or feud - in fact, I'd love it, he's my favorite...
But the problem is - he's had blood clots in his legs (more than once), he may or may not have a heart issue.... he looked grossly out of shape at the 2K14 Symposium.... based on what we saw on Celebrity Wife Swap, he's continuing to live a lifestyle of excess - and I believe it's catching up with him.
I guess, while he was an active wrestler - the wining & dining constantly was probably negated to an extent by his training & wrestling.... however, since he's not been an active wrestler - the party lifestyle and age have begun to take their toll on Ric's body.
Sadly, as much as I'd love to see him as an occasional performer - I think he'd embarrass himself by getting back in action at this point. And it's a pipe dream to think WWE would put him in there with Cena - WWE hasn't viewed Ric Flair as "main event" worthy since 1992 - IF they allowed him to wrestle, which they won't due to his poor health - it would be against some younger up-and-comers, like Antonio Cesaro, Dolph Ziggler, Curtis Axel, Daniel Bryan, or one of those guys. I'd say there MIGHT be a chance of a brief run with Punk.... but Punk also generally doesn't get "main event" treatment from WWE, either.
WWE is furious with Flair for the 2K14 symposium thing - between that and his failing health, he's viewed as a liability they don't need & I doubt we'll be seeing any type of in-ring return.... it'll be a minor miracle if we get to see him on-screen again anytime soon.
It's a real shame - Flair put himself in this position.

"Flair is broke" Yet, Flair lives in a bigger house then 90% of the people on this board. Flair goes out consistently every night for dinner & drinks. Flair consistently purchases gifts for friends and family. While the man is financially a tard, he's clearly not "broke". If you're broke, you're living in a van down by the river, eating Ramen Noodles and picking up cans on the side of the road to recycle for spare change.

When talking about being broke....there are 2 forms. You can be in debt poor....which is Flair. He has so much debt that is owed, he would have no money if he paid it all. Or you can be cash poor. Cash poor is when you have no cash. Flair is in debt poor. He has cash. He spends cash. But when it comes time to pay bills....he is behind or fails to pay at all. He can still live a relatively lavish lifestyle while being in debt poor.

What's wrong with him saying he'd like to wrestle Cena? Cena is the top household name in wrestling right now. If Flair wanted to have one more run I would expect him to say that he'd like to face somebody like Cena, Punk, Bryan, etc. who he hasn't faced before and are the top dogs in the company.
As much as I'll always love Ric Flair, though, he has no business wrestling ever again. It's sad because he's one of those guys who will always keep going out there to wrestle no matter what until the day he dies because of how much debt he's in.

What's wrong with him saying he'd like to wrestle Cena? John Cena is the biggest wrestling star of the last ten years, and has had the longest ever top babyface run on a global scale. John Cena is the absolute highest rung of the wrestling business. And Ric Flair is a fat, broken down old man. Not just wrestling old, but real life old. He's got no business having matches with guys like John Cena. It'd be like Mae Young wrestling Stone Cold in the attitude era.
