This is a situation where his heart says he can go, but his body would say no. God bless him for wanting to, but its not going to happen, nor should it ever happen.

Flair has never been in shape, but he looked awful even for him at Summerslam. I have 0 interest in ever hearing his name on a WWE product again.

That match would be so crap. Doesn't even matter if it would draw, it'd just be a bad match!

I believe Flair has a place in WWE. Just not in the ring. A GM or a Manager is the way to go. Use him to help establish younger talent but no matches.

"Flair is broke" Yet, Flair lives in a bigger house then 90% of the people on this board. Flair goes out consistently every night for dinner & drinks. Flair consistently purchases gifts for friends and family. While the man is financially a tard, he's clearly not "broke". If you're broke, you're living in a van down by the river, eating Ramen Noodles and picking up cans on the side of the road to recycle for spare change. Ever heard of debt? Everyone walking the earth that owns anything that is "theirs" is in debt. Its completely different then being broke.

Flair said that because Cena is one of the few people he has yet to face. And yes it would draw, Flair vs anyone would draw. That's what I was a gonna say!

If Flair were given a stable of great workers who can't talk, similar to Heenan, it would work very, very well. I've always thought of Flair as the next great manager.

Flair already pissed on his in-ring retirement. He should have never retired in the first place. I've moved on from that and I'd pay to see Flair v. Cena. Why the hell not? Everyone marks out when Hacksaw Jim Duggan makes a random RAW appearance, or Sgt. Slaughter. They're not as old as Flair, but it's the idea of a legend wrestling that is appealing.
However none of this is serious. Flair is just sayin that he would like to wrestle Cena and if he did...it would draw money. Which is a 100% true statement. He isn't saying the WWE has booked him to wrestle Cena. I could go on Austin's podcast and say I'd like to wrestle Cena.

If Flair could accept the fact that he's the manager - then yea, that could work great... But, the issue, I think, is that Flair still thinks he can be a wrestler.... his comments on Austin's podcast only make that more apparent. I don't think Flair can settle into a non-wrestling role, he's just itching to get into action..... which isn't necessarily a terrible thing, I wish some "active" guys were that motivated - however, I think when Flair is bored is when he gets silly and embarrassing..... you know, elbow-dropping his jackets, stripping down to his boxers, mooning the crowd, bleeding un-necessarily (even during interviews, sometimes).... the stuff that makes even us die-hard Flair fans a little embarrassed.... He seemed that way for most of his tenure in TNA.... here's a little clip to show what I'm talking about.... The difference - Heenan had no intention of being a wrestler - he knew his role was to be the mouthpiece for his guys, and he played it to perfection.... and most of the time, he stole the show by being the best at that role. If Flair could find that same level of acceptance - he'd be a great manager.... but I think he still believes the end-game will be big Return-To-The-Ring...... because that's what's ALWAYS been asked of him before.

Would it draw? probably. Would the promo work be amazing? Yes. Would the actual match be any good? Hell no.
The actual WRESTLING match would be terrible, Flair can't do anything good in the ring anymore and we all know that Cena's not the best wrestler. And for Flairs health I would prefer for him to never lace up the boots again.

He did the exact same thing in the WWE 2K14 symposium when Jim Ross asked Ric Flair what his dream WrestleMania match would be. But they were also both drunk and just going on about random crap.

I would rather see Big Show vs. Akebono II in a 120 minute ironman match than I would Flair vs. Cena.

These responses are laughable. I listened to the podcast, as I'm a fan of Austin. What I got from Flair was, the only top guy left he never wrestled was Cena.... Flairs heart is in wrestling, if he could dye in the ring I'm sure he would. He said that if WWE would give him another run for a 17th time he would run with it. But you could tell in his voice that it was never going to happen, and it was just in heart.

I would actually be fine with a match up between Cena and Flair.Hell having it take place at WM xXx would be ideal. But their would have to be some rules in place before the match took place.Firstly Flair would have to get into better shape, cut back on his partying and obviously pass his WWE physical.Second he would have to get the okay from HBK that he can un "Retire" and have another match and then last but not least the actual match would have to have a gimmick attached to it to make it passable and belivable that and 64 year old Flair could actually hang with and possibly beat Cena.
Sense Flair already ruined his "Retirement" but wrestling in TNA I think it would be fine to kind of due a redue and have him face Cena at WM xXx in a match and "Retire" again go out on a higher not then his lacklust TNA run and to wash out some of the bad taste from ruining his first "Retirement" from WM XXIV.
