So after the great King of the Ring poll by stingersplash84, I thought we could continue w/ another topic. After thinking about it yesterday I thought it would be cool to crown the greatest WCW Champion of all time. If this topic works we could continue it with other titles as well. There are 22 recognized WCW Champions and because of that there needs to be some qualifying matches before we get to the actual tournament. To make things simple rankings were based on how many total days the competitor held the WCW Title. WCW Champs under the WWF brand in 2001 count as well. Polls wills be open for 2 days. Pick one winner for each match. So heres to hoping that this works and props again to stingersplash84 for his great King of the Ring Tournament.

For me my picks are...
- DDP over Savage. Savage really didn't do much for me in WCW. DDP was seen as an underdog who constantly fought his way to the top.
- Angle over Rock. The wrestling Machine makes the Great One tap.
- Sid over Russo. Russo comes out in a ton of sports gear. Sid easily demolishes him.
- Jarrett over Arquette. Courtney Cox thows in the towel after a few minutes.
- Bret over Jericho. Bret was still at the top of his game in '99.
- Benoit over Nash. I loved Nash's chararacter in WCW but Benoit was the backbone of the company for years. He makes Nash tap out.

I based my picks on what the did during their tenure in WCW and as WCW Champion.
Savage- hes one of my all time favs and I always hated how all his reigns were short and ended by either Flair or Hogan. He should have had a more lengthy run with the title at some point, I think especially after he beat Sting for the title at Spring Stampede. The Rock- eh, neither were WCW wrestlers so doesnt matter much to me Sid- no explanation needed Jarrett- see above Jericho- Bret's fizzling career in WCW is well documented, and Jericho was the first ever Undisputed Champ Nash- obviously my most controversial pick. Yes, Nash cant hold a candle to Benoit as a wrestler. BUT, Benoit was champion for less than 24 hours and never carried the company. Nash was WAY over during almost his entire tenure in WCW.

Benoit held the WCW Title for 1 day, and Kevin Nash was a top 5 guy in WCW for 5 years. That's not even close for me. Benoit was an incredible in-ring performer, one of the best, but he has no business in this conversation imo. If you're looking for persona, charisma, draw power, you best not be looking for Chris Benoit. Tremendous performer, not a top guy or a great World Champion.

We can just go ahead and call this tournament off. Sting is the winner!
DDP - It sucks to vote Macho out this early, but DDP was better in my opinion. I think DDP had better mic work and better ring work. With the exception of name recognition, I think DDP was better than Macho all around.
Kurt Angle - This sets up Angle/Sting, which is a dream match of mine.
Sid Vicious - There's really no need to explain.
Bret Hart - I love Jericho, he's one of my five favorites, but at no point in his career could he stack up to "The Hitman".
Kevin Nash - I will never, under any circumstances acknowledge Benoit.
Jeff Jarrett - Again, there's really no need to explain.
I'm also really excited about the Luger/Steiner match. I would love to see "The Total Package" from 1991 do battle with "Big Papa Pump" from 2000. That would be smashmouth competition at it's best.

great idea man!!
DDP-always enjoyed him more than Savage.
Kurt Angle.LOVE Rock but Angle just pips it for me....JUST.
Sid -obviously I don't need to say why
Jarrett-again I don't need to explain
Benoit-Nash gets no vote from me.....the Fingerpoke of Doom(which devalued the belt incredibly)was his idea.
Bret Hart-no comparison here IMO.
