As of today I've now owned the ESR three times!
I bought one when it was first released like most of you, probably close to $80 shipped to Canada at the time. It was big, too big and I decided to sell it on eBay in auction format and let it ride. It sold for such a loss it was embarrassing, but I moved on.
Then RSC had a loose one on their site for $24, no pics - and I took a gamble. Around $50 later for shipping and I was pleased as punch that it was absolutely MINT - all pieces intact, canvas and skirt not even open from the bag. I'm sure RSC staff were kicking themselves after we saw how this item sky-rocketed in price afterwards...
So I cashed in on the popularity and sold it for a very handsome profit. Then I started regretting letting it go again especially when Mattel announced they weren't ever going to make it again and seeing the $500-$600 price tags on the bay really hurt.
So last week I was doing a random search for rings, not using the usually "wwe mattel esr elite scale" keywords, but just generic "wrestling ring" and sure enough someone had it BIN for $50, no canvas and missing two stands underneath. I'm not sure if the seller even knew what they had, but it came yesterday - very dusty and some person/kid tried to hot-glue the posts and skirt. Anyways, I cleaned it up with warm soapy water yesterday, scraping off the glue and damn it's a fine almost new ring for a good price! Ordered new white ropes and canvas from narapro so this'll look as good as new (missing 2 of the 12 legs underneath though).
I don't think I want to sell this again, not until I see Mattel deciding to make a newer, better version if they ever decide to retry this.
Any items in your collection you've re-bought multiple times?

Never. But I initially got the ESR so my godson could use it whenever he came to visit. (Got it from Target.com for $40.00 with free shipping) After a while I felt bad informing him that it was off limits because it was no longer considered a toy. He agreed when I showed him the price it was going for at the time (around $500 on eBay) I felt bad as he loved playing with that thing. Damn ring is very nice though.

I still have mine with box and an extra set of stairs. I only had it set up once but I know I'd regret selling it.
The prices they're going for make it tempting to unload though.

You guys make me wanna pull mine out the closet. The ring is so big I too leave it in the box. I have no room to display a thing of that magnitude.

I had bought one for my son. I still have all the Jakks real scale rings except the money in the bank one. The first two Wrestlemania rings I have MOC never opened. I have The Cell and Elimination Chamber rings with the boxes but they have been opened. I dont have a need for all those rings but for some reason I cannot bring myself to sell them. Hang on to this one with no regrets. Good find

I originally ordered the ring from Kmart.com a few yrs ago n cancelled the order like an hr after cuz I figured I had no room. I missed out on the big lots deal a few yrs back as well. So I finally bought it from a member on here for a good price last month and it was just too big. I don't think it's in scale. I would love a basic ring that's just a little bigger and no spring action garbage. Here's a pic I snapped. Hulk looks so tiny in that massive ring. There's no way he could run the ropes without passing out lol I've also bought and sold mr perfect like 6 times. I love Curt Hennig but the figure is so wrong in many ways. No matter the solutions I try to come up with to fix him it just doesn't work. I hope we get a new elite cuz he really needs to be redone right.

I got mine from a friend who bought one for me in Big Lots. Cost me a lot on the shipping but it was well worth the money! I have since been posing with it very often.

I know exactly what you mean. I bought mine from someone for about 70 dollars shipped at the end of last year. Me and my son loved it. But I decided I could probably build a ring myself and sold mine on ebay. Ive been kicking myself ever since. Now we have no ring haha! Ive been watching ebay like a hawk for the last month and so far no dice. Hopefully soon I luck out.

I've always wanted an ESR or a RSR and never had the money for it. I'd want it for play, because having more room in a Ladder Match or a Royal Rumble match sounds like heaven, alas though, I may never own one unless i hit the lottery.

Same here on perfect, I've gone through 3 now and don't have one currently. THat damn ring just keeps getting bigger and bigger everytime I see it. I've been paying attention to the real ring and I'm doubting the 20x20, maybe it wa that big in the 80's but I think the wwe ring is more like 18X18 with a 1' apron. so 16X16 inside ropes. I know the data says 20X20, but it just doesnt look that big, even with all the super HD cams and crap. ESR is 24X24? it wouldn't fit on my arena table, My custom ring is 18X18 and i barely have floor room on 2 sides.

I had no idea the RSR was going for so much. I have the Mattel one that I got for Xmas 2 years ago. I don't play with it, but I don't have the packaging any more and my cat nibbled a part of the ropes lol. I looked on eBay and I only see boxed "Mattel" ones. Should I sell it loose? For how much? It's too big for me. Or should I go Craigslist?

For me, it was the freebirds 3 pack. I am just very undecided.
As for rings, I would like to get the ESR once again but I love my jakks RSR. I just wish I hadn't spray painted the damn cage so many times!!!

ive made many of my own rings, to perfect scale, 4 and 6 sided, and just aquired the RSR cell, its far cheaper and more fun making it the money to spend on that esr is too crazy to justify !!

The Ring is big, I'm working on finding a spot for it. It will be for display purposes anyways so I'm thinking of propping it up on a stereo tower I used as a TV stand before. I won't complain about it since I got mine for $20 (posted about it on here a few weeks ago).
I'm still less than 6 months in to collecting so I haven't had to re-buy anything. Just multiples of Ryback, Cesaro and belted Elites to have one loose and one MOC.

Am I the only one that doesn't mind the size of the ESR? I swear, people on this forum bitch at things that are SLIGHTLY off, or the sake of bitching
like the L3 Mr Perfect figure, I think it's matches him greatly, cause you know that he wasn't generally a big guy with the help of steroids, like I always say, "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth"
but back on topic: i have not had this situation before, I've kept all of my figures
just my opinion
