Not long ago there were reports that injury announcements would have exaggerated return times to keep the crowd guessing. It worked, and I'm glad they're doing it. Everyone had him penciled in for a Rumble return. I would've liked him to return at the Rumble, along with Sheamus. Would've been a huge pop for both of them. If Cena wins this, then I'm fine with that as he hasn't the World Title that many times, and with him as Champion it may get some credibility back. But will Cena work SmackDown as it's Champion? The only WWE Champions in the past year or so to work SmackDown were The Rock, Orton and Punk occasionally. Cena never did.

Putting the title on Cena will do wonders for its credibility. I thought I was the only one who had this opinion. I'm pretty sure Cena is 100% ready to go. Because if he wasn't, WWE would have told him to stay home. No point in risking the man's career. These people aren't looking at the bigger picture. You didn't want Cena coming back in the WWE Championship picture, did you? You would have complained and said that he's taking the spotlight away from Bryan and Orton. We've had countless threads talking about how Del Rio is boring and someone needs to take the title off him. Now that we finally have someone who we know is taking the World Heavyweight Championship, you have a problem with that? Cena as champion is 100 times more interesting than Del Rio as champion. Put the World Heavyweight Championship on him and........BAM! Instant credibility. This could actually free up the title picture to include more guys. And when Dolph Ziggler finally goes over and becomes World Heavyweight Champion, who would be a better champion to go over? Cena or Del Rio? Why should I care about Ziggler beating Del Rio? WWE had something with those two and they (bleep) it up. Daniel Bryan and CM Punk winning the WWE Championship would have much less impact if it wasn't Cena putting them over. Honestly, I'm starting to think you guys just don't want to see Cena in any capacity. Unless this is just to get Sandow to cash in, stop being fickle and wait to see what happens.

so the WHC means something now cena is likely to win it pure wf iwc logic :') so this means if he wins he'll be a 14 time champ, PURE prestige there my friend this just means he'll be champ yet again and people will get annoyed with it saying super cena is taking ziggler/sandows spot and prestige wont even come into it.

I think this is perfect. IF as advertised Cena brings attention to the World Title picture. Cena vs Sandow & Ziggler can and should be showcased and spotlighted. And the WWE Title picture maintains it's current position, there doesn't need to be a swap, anything involving Cena is gonna be highlighted so he and the title do not need immediately promoted above the WWE Title chase.
It will be crap if it goes the other way.

Since when did everyone here become a ****ing doctor?
Of anyone in that company not named the Undertaker, who do you think they'd most likely NOT put at risk to be injured more? John Cena.
Nevermind the fact that Cena is clearly an incredibly quick healer, since he came back from both a Pec tear AND neck surgery ahead of schedule. Oh, and nevermind the fact that we were clearly mislead by the WWE about how long it would take for him to heal.
Regarding the question at hand, I haven't cared about that title since Wrestlemania, personally. I enjoy Del Rio, but he needs more than the 3 people he has had a feud with in the past (Looking at you Cena, Christian, and Ziggler)

No they're not giving Cena the belt to "give prestige" back to it.
Cena's back to pop a buy rate and help the ratings with his presence, but they don't want to derail the main storyline or kill Bryan's momentum by throwing Cena into it. By giving Cena the World Title, they're giving him something to do in a relatively high spot on the card without the pressure of having him as a headliner. And since the World HEavyweight Title doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things anyway, Cena can just keep the belt indefinitely, but you can still put people over by having them feud with Cena.
Either that or they're planting the seeds for a unification match. No way are they going to give Cena the belt and go back to giving it to midcarders.
And I don't see Sandow cashing in on Cena either. If Sandow takes the title from Cena, then Cena has to feud with him. But if Cena feuds with him, he has to win the belt back because he's Cena, so WWE will end up not booking the feud so as to protect both guys (read. to keep the belt on Sandow without making Cena "look weak"). And if Cena isn't booked to try to get revenge and win the belt back. and just moves on to "more important" things, it only serves to damage Sandow and the title further.
Cena can beat Del Rio for the World Title, and then disappear from TV with it to finish his recovery, and so we can get used to seeing only one major title on TV again. And he'd only come back to defend the belt against random challengers. Since no one cares about the World Title anymore, it's okay to go the "Spoiler: Cena Wins" route about it. Just let him hold onto the title indefinitely in his own little bubble while everyone else focuses on the WWE or Intercontinental Titles.

I love everytime these two have a match with each other, so I'm excited for this one.
I'm hoping Alberto Del Rio wins, it would really help him and make his title reign more credible.
