WWE Returning to Pittsburgh for Royal Rumble
WWE announced during Raw last night that the company will return to Pittsburgh for the 2014 Royal Rumble PPV, and an internet pre-sale will begin on Wednesday for tickets to the event. Fans can use the pre-sale code RUMBLE to get tickets via Ticketmaster.

After last nights show I'm worried about fan reactions if any good surprises show up. They used to be such a good crowd. Tf happened?

I know Console Energy Center is bigger than Mellon Arena was. It only held like 14,000 whereas the new place is closer 19,000. Cleveland and Pittsburgh used to have back to back Raws and Smackdowns during the attitude era. I've seen some pretty memorable moments in both cities, ie. Invasion PPV, Mankind thrown off the cell KOTR 98, Unforgiven 01, etc. I don't think either city has hosted a ppv in quite sometime.

I really don't care where it is aslong as Cena or Sheamus doesn't win, Lesnar and Ambrose are in it and atleast 3 legends. Then it could be in Africa for all I care.

The crowd for Raw last night was pretty terrible. Hopefully it's a different environment for a PPV like the Rumble. To be fair, I don't know that there was really that much to get excited about. They cheered for Ziggler, Punk, Vickie making the Cena announcement, and then the main event. I just think we've seen a number of really hot crowds lately and last nights was extremely pedestrian in comparison.

When Bob Backlund came out last night, I told my dad, "I don't think anyone in the crowd knows who the hell he is."
The crowd was dead.
If it would have been any other city and Bruno, Booker, Backlund & HBK came out, the place would have gone crazy.
Was it due to the Pirates losing to the Cardinals a few hours before the show? That's really the only reason I could think of.

The crowd literally did not make a peep for Backlund. It was DEAD.
I might look into going to the Rumble in Pittsburgh as I live in the Cleveland area.

I was there on the floor last night. Couldn't stand the crowd. Everyone around me on the floor were awful (couldn't really hear the rest of the crowd). The dudes behind me would always chant "NO" for DB, booed every face, Husky Harris chants, etc. just real annoying stuff. And it seemed like some others around me weren't that into wrestling (not wearing WWE merch, no signs, no reactions). I was like wtf why you on floor?

$550 for a ringside seat. Ringside? That isn't even bad. Usually in Boston they're all over 1000

I was at RAW, and while I would in no means call it a hot crowd.. it wasn't dead. They were loud when they needed to be that's for sure. Also, to whoever said Bruno would've gotten a louder chant in any other city, you do know Bruno is a Pittsburgh icon right?
Consol Energy Center has a reputation of sounding quiet on TV, but being much louder in person. The Penguins fans get flack all the type for not sounding loud by people who watch the games on TV, but anyone who's been in attendance at a game can tell you different. Age of the crowd may have been a determining factor as to why Backlund had no response.

Maybe the crowd was dead because they were still zoned out from Battleground? Hope the Rumble is better.

Boston isn't $1,000. That's platinum auctions and/or resale. Ringside with a chair is $525 after Ticketmaster service fees for Survivor Series.
By the way, if anyone needs the other pre-sale code for the Rumble, it's "ROYAL". How creative.

Stub hub had seats in the freakin loge for 500 and floor was 1700 and that's not even the front row. That's why I always wait until the /day of the ppv. I always find a floor seat for 100 bucks. That's what happened at NOC last year.
