Lots of "best figures..." threads going on, but what I want to know what are the best figures for customizing/fix-ups you use!?!
My top 3:
1. L2 Terry Funk - absolutely the best generic male buck. I've utilized almost every single part of this figure for other fix-ups other than his head, and if you did an ECW 90's Funk you can use the same damn head anyways! I swear I must've bought like a dozen of this figure alone for parts.
2. E19 Brock Lesnar - believe it or not, the torso is very versatile and probably the easiest part to split open. Used his arms for Goldberg fix-ups, torso for Steve Williams, I've seen it used for Warlord and Bulldog, even the legs are used for more Goldbergs.
3. E20 Christian - I've found a lot of uses for this guy's yellow tights. For a Sting fix-up, for yellow-tights Rockers, now I've even thought of doing an Eddie Gilbert. Christian's head has been used to make a Michael Hayes fix-up, and the torso/arms are generic enough to use on other things.

im always happy when the figure uses ball joints for the hips, makes removing the legs alot easier,
bulldog, austin: that torso is great for the "bulky,im having to live on fast food and lift weights everyday" look
bandy, you've made a goldberg? got any pics? love to see it

Bandy, you couldnt be more correct with your assessment of the Funk figure. Easily Mattel's most versatile Elite. Some others for me... Legends Brian Pillman - I bought probably 15 of these on sale for super cheap and have used all but a couple pair of legs... Nice buff torso, white taped wrists, solid black boots, and black tights. Cant go wrong. Legends Bulldog - Who among us hasnt used a Bulldog for a custom or fixup? Hogan was the obvious choice, but these parts work for so many different people. Elite Miz - Maybe its just me makes endless Austin Aries, but I have bought a ton of these too for customs. They work great for the skinny kickpad wearing indy guys. There are other obvious ones like Austin, HHH, KVE, etc, but these I think everyone would agree to. If nothing else, the legends line gave us a great assortment of pretty basic parts that we could use for customizing. For that alone I am very grateful for the line.

I think Brock would work for Muraco.
And I think Funk is the best figure for customizing.

bandy, you've made a goldberg? got any pics? love to see it Well not really, never got an RA Goldberg head - but Lesnar arms/gloves, calves/boots, Hillbilly Jim torso-to-thighs and sold him on eBay as a headless fix-up for a tidy sum. I'm loving the ball joint hips but there's not enough variety out there yet. E20 Christian has the ball joint hips, as well as big Zeke, E20 Punk and this new Miz.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe all of the E23 figures have the ball jointed hips. At least the Savage, JBL and Cease I have had do. I think the E19 HBK and Ziggler did as well.

e11 Barrett is great for fix ups as well. Generic black trunk with a lean tall body can help you make alot of guys and you can usually find him for cheap.

Austin's are good, so are punks. I like the new style hips a lot, you never need to split those crotches. E19 HBK is good too.

I'd agree that Hillbilly Jim or Terry Funk are the best Elites for customizing. For Basics, I'd go with Stone Cold (plain black trunks) or Cody Rhodes or Vladmir Koslov (plain white trunks).

HBJ & Terry Funk are the best. I've used a couple Punks for fix ups as well.
