If WWE really wanted Hogan, I have no doubt they would sign him. The fact is at this point, in a PG era WWE, bringing back Hogan for a Legends contract "isn't what's best for business". I put Hogan in the same class as Scott Hall, Chyna, even Ric Flair. The last several years, these superstars have had very bad reputations. Why would WWE or Mattel want to go near these liabilities? Especially one as controversial as Hogan, whose twitter antics, personal and private woes, sex tape/scandal, etc., have given him a very speckled resume. Have you heard Hogan voice the Dean in the Adult Swim cartoon China, IL? Vulgar stuff.... For Mattel, Hogan is a cash cow. While financially WWE wouldnt profit as much, being able to put out all the Hulkamania merchandise would certainly bring in sales.

ing TNA.... If WWE signed him, you'd say the same thing or? Yeah, not a fan of Hogan in general. I'd be okay with it if he could at least wrestle still like in the early 2000's, but now I just don't see much of a point to it other than a bit of extra merchandising revenue.

-- Thing is, Hogan ISN'T bringing anything to TNA, as far as a return on their financial investment goes. Had he taken a massive pay-cut, along with the guys and gals who bust their a$$es every week - I wouldn't have such a problem with Hogan staying. But I honestly feel, the fans have as much responsibility to TNA's downfall, simply by chanting his name and popping so loudly..... What this does, is it encourages the TNA offices to bend over backwards to keep Hulk around. Yes he's a name, yes he get mega-pops anytime he steps through those curtains. But 1) he takes up valuable air-time that could be distributed towards an actual performer for the company. 2) It's obvious he doesn't pay attention to the storylines, which is a good indication he doesn't give a hoot about the product. And 3) If he walked out on TNA, TNA wouldn't need him as the company would do just fine without Hulkamania anchoring the budget as severely as it's doing now.
Yes, Panda Energy has more $$$ than Vince McMahon, but any investment (ANY, this includes a wrestling company) that does poorly and shows no signs of growth (which in this case, is based on the stupid decision to keep Hulk around) - will eventually cut ties from such investment. Look what happened to WCW, Ted Turner himself had all the money to keep it going (much like Bob Carter does with TNA). But the shareholders of Turner looked at WCW as a dwindled asset - hence, the sale to Vinnie Mac.
Hulk Hogan was simply looking out for: Hulk Hogan. I too am very disappointed he's staying in TNA, as it would have made MUCH, MUCH better sense to do business with WWE and ultimately end his career there. Had he taken a pay cut and submitted a great deal of his "creativity" back over to somebody who knows what do to - like I said, I'd have no problem with him staying, he would almost be like what Terry Funk did for ECW.
But the fact of the matter is, aside from merchandise sales, Hulk Hogan brings NOTHING else to the table. He doesn't go out of his way to advertise TNA, he makes himself look like a dufus in the public spotlight. The only reason why he gets such large pops from the crowd, is nostalgia and you can NOT evolve as a company, if you're banking all of your chips on a guy who doesn't actively perform in the ring any longer - just because he has name recognition. Big f**kin' deal... Sting, Angle, Hardy - all big names in their own right. Difference is, those 3 go out and still do business in the ring.
TNA really dropped the ball on this one and as a fan since the spring of 2002 when I first heard about this new company called NWA-TNA... I'm soo freakin disappointed at this point. Because if Hogan continues to drain and suck the funds from TNA like he's doing now, and TNA doesn't grow - Bob Carter can easily pull the plug and we'll all sadly watch Total Nonstop Action sink like the Titanic. Or how about worse yet.... Bob Carter sells TNA to Vince. Then TNA becomes another casualty to a company that I couldn't give 2 sh*ts about now days - and we all know TNA would be mocked heavily in front of their fans (just how WWF did to the Alliance over 10yrs ago - made a lot of the WCW & ECW guys look like sh*t).

As of 7:00 tonight, PWInsider is saying, after talking to both sides, that there is no deal at the moment between TNA and Hogan. It's not to say it won't happen, but as of now, he isn't signed back.

I have more time now so I have to vent a tad bit more. This is a terrible decision by Hogan and TNA! I'm a huge Hogan fan, but he has NOTHING to do in TNA. 4 appearances in WWE in a year would be more important than his whole TNA run. If Hulk has 1 last match in him the perfect place would have been WM 30, there is no match in TNA anyone wants to see him in, heck there is no feud or storyline anyone wants to see him do in TNA. WWE owns his history and his fan base want to see him in WWE. I just don't understand why he would go back to TNA. I guess us Hulkamaniacs will never get that moment to see Hulk in WWE again. Sad day for the Hulkamaniacs. you had that moment IN 2002, 11 years ago. it was near brutal then, it's beyond stale now.

What Hogan will make in 1 year with TNA is about what The Rock and Brock Lesnar are making for 1 match with WWE. So he's going to make about as much as The Rock and Brock Lesnar make in a year then...?
