One of my least favorite wrestling commentators of all time.

I got used to watching TNA hearing his voice on commentary, one of those familiar things you felt when watching the show. He was as much of TNA as Tenay is, and I was sad to see him go. Tazz was a good replacement until he turned 'heel' and started spewing crap at every turn.

I remember him going off on Tenay. Did that go anywhere?

One time when I was a young kid, I was bike riding with some friends of mine. We decided to ride down this dirt hill. I was more than half way down when I hit a bump and fell off the back of my bike seat. In an odd twist I landed on the back tire while somehow maintaining my balance. Soon my testicles were pulled between the reflector & the tire that was spinning very fast. I was unable to hit the breaks since I was sitting on the back tire gripping my seat for dear life. I eventually had to tip myself over into a mud puddle to stop. I jumped up and dropped my pants only to find a blood blister on my "goods". I stood bare ass'ed in the middle of the road panicking, while being laughed at hysterically. It was a horrible & embarrassing exprience.
Yet... I appreciated that MUCH more than Don West. FACT!

-- At first, I was glad to see Taz come in. But once Don left TNA, it just hasn't been the same. He was green as a commentator, but his enthusiasm more than made up for it and made a lot of guys look good, from it.
His Shop TNA videos, I still watch from time to time on YouTube... the guy can sell just about anything.
I wish he was still part of the company.

I'll be honest, Don West hasn't been one of my favorite commentators. However, I can appreciate the fact that D.W. had passion and emotion when he did commentary,he seemed very interested into what was going on in the ring, which worked when you consider that his broadcast partner was Mike Tenay, who just called the moves while West had to sell the action and make you care about what's going on. Plus, I kind of enjoyed Don as a heel, found him absolutely hilarious when he made fun of the babyfaces and when he called Mike Tenay a tool and a prick. Even though, D.W.'s commentary was give or take, he had a very integral part in TNA when it came to merchandizing.Don was a good pitchman for TNA and came up with some good ideas like the Brown Bag special in order to get people to buy their products. I've heard that ShopTNA has gone down in service since Don left. So, in all, all I've got to say is YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME ! ? ! ?

He was the JR of TNA. I loved him as a commentator. Tenay and Taz have been boring for how many years? Too many to count.

I'll never understand peoples dislike for West. He was part of TNA for just about as long as anyone, and was just as big a part as the Six Sided Ring and the King of the Mountain Match. All jokes aside, West was the voice of TNA to me, and when Tazz replaced him, I honestly stopped listening.
Funny story, my first TNA live show, I was front row, and a little drunk if I must say. After having a sarcastic star struck moment with Earl Hebner (the guys been a Dick everytime I've met him, and he always remembers me somehow), I was convinced I had spotted Don West, only it looked like he was working security. After me trying repeatedly to get his attention, a familiar former ECW security guard(the one with the mullet) came up to me and said "That's not Don West!"
Since then, I've looked at some old TNA and original ECW tapes and have spotted the Don West-lookalike security guard several times. Just thought I'd share........
