So I was lucky enough in the 90s to get a channel that aired indy wrestling every night at 7 pm. From IWCCW, SMW, USWA, GWF, SAPW, ECW, and UWF. They were all stacked full of talent and made for interesting 1 hour shows.
So with that being said, what indy federations did people enjoy watching back in the 90s??
I gotta say, my favourite was Smoky Mountain Wrestling, followed by ECW, and USWA. The rest just kind of followed suit.

USWA. As I've said many, many times before. Huge Memphis territory mark.

Oh Jesus it was ECW.
I liked all the others but I soon became enamored with ECW.
Taz, Public Enemy Douglas Bam Bam Dudleys RVD Eliminators Benoit,Jericho,Guerrero Bad Breed Blue World Order Pitbulls Sandman Gangstas
you name it I bought into it.loved the real world music as their themes too.quite often I couldn't believe what I was seeing.I marked like a mother*cker when they turned up on Raw

I'd say ECW at #1,though we didn't start getting it here til 1995,so I missed all the early years. Smokey Mountain definitely #2. I guess USWA at #3, though the overall tone of the USWA never really did anything for me...

GWF was awesome to me. The Patriot vs Dark Patriot, first look at guys like 123 Kid, Jerry Lynn, Buff Bagwell and Harlem Heat also who can forget the awesome Bungee match LOL....
Also its good to heard that WWE bought the rights to the GWF library. Maybe we can get a Booker T collection now.

I also think The Patriot is one of THE biggest missed opportunities in wrestling.if he chose WCW over WWF in 93/94 he was very foolish. by the same token if Vince didn't offer him anything in 93/94 it was he who was foolish.

ECW from 1996 - 2001 shouldn't count as an indy fed.
I should have explained that for indy fed when it comes to ECW, I meant from 93 - 95.
I can't see many people picking Larry Winters vs. Super Destroyer 1 over something like the Rock N Roll Express vs. The Heavenly Bodies.

ECW hands down, they were an indy fed in my mind till the day they closed, USWA and SMW are close 2nds though. I do miss GWF and the 2nd UWF owned by the coke fiend, I just miss having so many options for wrestling
