linkSource: Pwinsider.com A.J. Styles appears to be departing from TNA for the first time since the company's formation in 2002. Styles' current contract extension expires on the 16th of the month and he will be a free agent after that; he has already begun taking independent bookings. Styles and TNA reportedly couldn't come to terms on money; with the company trying to cut costs, the two sides have had a wide gulf in the amount of money they wanted the deal to be for and despite the two-month extension signed in October, they were unable to work things out. TNA was unable to offer Styles what he had been making and Styles, who felt he was a big part of the company and its brand, wouldn't agree to a lesser deal. The departure of Styles has reportedly "sent a bad signal" to other TNA originals who have deals coming up; the message is that the company will lose their originals if they can't make a deal fit their financial requirements. Styles is moving forward with outside projects such as his autobiography and his participation in a speaking tour of the UK next year. This could be part of the storyline, but just for the sake of argument if this were in fact true, this would be a HUGE, HUGE MISTAKE!!! Possibly the biggest mistake that they could possibly make. I don't blame him one bit for not taking a pay cut. If ANYONE deserves to be taken care of, its AJ. AJ is the heart and soul of TNA, along with (albeit to a lesser extent) guys like Bobby Rude, James Storm, and anyone else who has been there from the weekly ppv days. I would dare say pay AJ before guys like Sting and Angle, who I think are also very important. Screwing over the people who helped you get to where you are is a ridiculous mistake. At least they still have King Mo, Tito Ortiz, and Rampage to keep all of the wrestling fans happy...

It's going to be weird that's for sure, and supposedly Jeff Hardy's contract is coming up so he may be in a similar situation. I've been a fan of AJ since 2003 so this is going to be really hard to get over.

Don't this up, TNA. Don't this up, TNA. Don't this up, TNA. Seriously, if they want to cut costs, why not get rid of the dead weight? For christ sakes, Chavo Guerrero is still employed, and he is doing nothing.

-- I still think it's a work, but if it turns out to be true, AJ venturing out isn't such a bad thing. I've always seen AJ is to TNA, what Bret Hart was the WWF back in the day; Bret eventually left the company. Hopefully, unlike Bret thou, AJ is used properly wherever he goes.

I read tonight that AJ Styles may sign with ROH.
If that's true, then that doesn't seem right.
You're telling me that ROH has enough money to sign AJ Styles but TNA doesn't?? Something doesn't add up with that.

Which is why AJ isn't signing with ROH.
There's no chance that the golden boy of TNA isn't going to continue with the company. If they don't get him the money he's making, he'd definitely take a pay cut to stay where he's happy.

AJ Styles is TNA's #1 guy as John Cena is WWE's #1 guy. WWE would in no way let John Cena go, so TNA would be stupid to let their #1 guy walk out the company. Hopefully it's a work.

It's all storyline. Jeff Jarrett will return with AJ styles and Jeff Hardy to feud with Dixie's Stable for control of the company.

I do hope that this is all some sort of work, but I do believe that TNA is moronic enough to allow AJ to walk away.

Getting rid of AJ is a huge mistake. Is Dixie just completely goddamn intellectually- disabled?

So they Won't give AJ Styles the money he wants. But they will over pay for a grandpa Sting and Kurt angle who is past his prime and has serious problems. AND god awful taz.and had money to waste on the nasty boys, RVD,Hall,Nash,Waltman, Dreamer Rampage Jackson, AND Tito Oritz. This company is a joke.

In all fairness, Spike helps with some of those contracts, and guys like Dreamer didn't make much at all and don't influence pay scale several years later.

This would be weird for sure. With Jeff and AJ leaving a big hit in the faces will take place. It makes me wonder who they will push to the top. They had Sabin but they killed that fast. A Double was there and I feel he still is but needs that great story. Magnus is alright but I cant see him lasting to awful. Storm and Roode are both great and they could go back to that. I don't know. It's just weird to me to think AJ is elsewhere and Jeff is nowhere, you know WWE isn't gonna take another chance. I could say ultimately I would like to see AJ show up on Raw but I know deep down he would never get anywhere near the main event scene....Oh well heres to the future of TNA EC3

I am intrigued. I do not know if this is part of the story-line or not. This angle has me very interested though and I look forward to seeing it continue.

I doubt this is part of the storyline because in storyline, he left TNA already. Anyways, it's sad that TNA didn't want to pay AJ Styles the money he requested. I doubt he requested "Sting" or "Kurt Angle" money, but if anyone deserves to be a pay raise instead of a pay cut, is AJ Styles and it's sad that TNA couldn't agree to a new deal. Even though there's nothing must for AJ to do in TNA since he's done EVERYTHING, it's sad to see one of their originals, one that has been in the company since day one, one of the first guys that wasn't a major player in WWE or WCW at the time that they pushed to main event status.
