Yeah just to get myself a push into the property market, through driving lessons, etc etc. The job im working now, eventhough I enjoy it the wage isn't great, if I could get a well paid job, i'd take it save like hell so I can afford to put a deposit down on a house, sort out a car and car insurance and then go back to the job i liked. which for me is easy as care / social workers are always needed, especially qualified ones such as myself, plus now I have more experience I can go for a higher wage if I went for another job in care.

If I really needed the money, yes but definitely not long term. I want a job that I enjoy doing and doesn't make me miserable. If it wasn't a huge loss money wise & I could cope without it then of course not.

i'm a young guy with little experience overall in professional fields, i take any job i can and they usually suck. but money doesn't. i know i won't be at this stage forever so it's okay, it feels natural to not be doing exactly what i want to right off the bat.

I would take it for the short term until I found something else. Jobs aren't easy to come by now a days.

I've done it twice. It's a balance you gotta find. On the one hand you gotta do what you gotta do to support yourself but on the other hand there's no point in supporting yourself if you are going to be miserable.
When I did it, I worked as long as I could and collected my paychecks and paid my bills. Then I left when I couldn't take it anymore. It's really tough when one of those jobs involves working with family.

I would take it and save up as much money as I can until I found a job I was satisfied with.

I guess it depends on whether you need the bread or not.

Thanks everyone for your responses. I haven't made a decision, but if I had to choose right this second, I probably wouldn't take it. I had a meeting with the boss today & we are just keeping the lines of communication open. They are REALLY in a bad spot right now, so I'm trying to use that against them & see just how much they are willing to bend over backwards for me. The money is the only motivator for me here, but I'm a single guy with no credit card debt, no car payment, or kids. So I'm not in a spot where my back is against the wall to make a choice. I'm also about to *hopefully* have a surgery next month that they don't know about, so how flexible they will be with me over it will be a big factor. Again, thanks guys for your feedback. I really appreciate it. If I didnt have bills or responsibilitys I would NOT take a job I didnt like. I actually have bills and need my money. Not too long ago I took a job because it promised more money. It ended up being a nightmare. I quickly left. So if you are going into something knowing you arent comfortable/happy with what you have to do then things will only get worse.

For me it depends on the job. Could you give it a try and see if you like it?

Depends what the situation was for me at the time, and what opportunities were presented. Years ago I may have done anything to earn 6 figures. Now, barely into my 30s, I recently laughed off a job offer in the 100K range because I would have had to leave my house and drive to work. I've been lucky in my endeavors in life, but not without lots of smart moves and dues paid. It all adds up. So anyway, right now and for the foreseeable future, I would NOT take a job I disliked for a lot of money.

$ is good and i believe that despite what ppl say in most cases it can bring happiness. but stress and going to a job everyday that drains you will put a damper on things. this is my current situation. i would say if it doesn't make you happy or u cant find some level of enjoyment in what you'll be doing then don't do it. don't be one of the older ppl coming to work everyday but hating being there every min

I have to agree with the majority and say if you don't exactly need the money, then theirs no point in busting your ass for a job you hate. However if money is absolutely crucial, take the job.
