I mean... I can't be the only one that thought their "20 former champions in the ring" list was a bit pathetic...
the Great Khali... the Miz... Jack Swagger... Dolph Ziggler... Mysterio Del Rio Mark Henry Christian... Big Show JBL Bret Hart Punk Mick Foley Booker T Shawn Michaels HHH Cena Orton Bryan Kane
really?..
just think about the former wrestlers that the WWE is on "good" terms with at the moment... Bruno Sammartino Edge The Ultimate Warrior Sgt Slaughter - maybe... Bob Backlund The Iron Shiek - maybe... Undertaker Ric Flair Steve Austin The Rock Chris Jericho Brock Lesner Batista Sheamus Goldberg

But the ones that were there are the ones still with the company. And, they didn't even do anything so having the other people you listed there would have been a complete waste.

You gotta realize they didn't want too many legends considering they would overshadow the main roster.

yea... but that's sort of what made it pathetic... like.. why even promote it.. all it seems to show is that the title changes hands so much.. that just about anyone will hold the title at least once...

Why are you surprised we didn't see Warrior, Taker, Austin, Rock, Jericho, Lesnar, Batista, Goldberg or a returning Sheamus?
Taker, Rock, Jericho, Lesnar and Sheamus still wrestle and their being there wouldn't make sense.
Warrior, Austin, Batista and Goldberg aren't going to reappear after so much time gone from the company for a little segment where they do nothing but stand in the ring.

I assumed they had those guys there because most of them were already on the payroll and the legends were there for the Slammy Awards. No sense in paying a bunch of guys to just stand in the ring and then break up a fight (which they probably aren't even able to get too physical).

It would just over shadow what was actually going on.

It would just over shadow what was actually going on. Absolutely, and if they had guys like Austin, Sarge, Edge, Taker, or Bruno, there's positively NO WAY that either Cena or Orton would have been able to say they're the best ever. Scripted or not, there's not a chance in hell that either of those two cut a promo saying they're the greatest ever with bigger caliber names in there. They did it exactly how they should have.

As great as that ending was they could have had the ring filled with 20 former NXT drop outs for all I care. Does that make any sense? That's for you to decide...
... I'll just go ahead and tell you. No it doesn't.

As other people have said.. it was really the point. Also, how many legends are you going to fly in for a 10 min promo? Can you imagine that extra cost of plane tickets and hotel accommodations. Also, you already have Bret and Shawn and only like 3 or 4 guys might be arguably more important.

I thought it was a terrible choice for one reason only. They scanned the ring and you saw guys like HBK & Bret Hart, two of the greatest of all times. You saw guys like Bryan & Punk, who like them or not are probably the two best ring workers of this generation. You even had some of the big names from the 90s like Triple H & Big Show and some guys who are very underrated like Alberto Del Rio and Dolph Ziggler....then the camera scanned over to The Great Khali......seriously, The Great ing Khali. You put a stooge who has done nothing but dance with a midget for the past 2 years in the ring with a crop of legends? Champion or not, you could have very well let us forget his reign.

Hilarious idea that they should've brought back Ultimate Warrior just to stand in the ring to set up Daniel Bryan giving Shawn Michaels a knee to the face. The 20 former champions gimmick was done as a way to get certain guys in the ring for that closing brawl and open up incredibly exciting possibilities going forward.

While the segment was great, (Probably the first segment I've seen in months), the sadder part is that save for about 4 or 5 guys about 15 of the 20 former champions in the ring were still full time active roster members.

I thought it was more pathetic when Cena said something on SD! like 99% of the WWE superstars will never hold the WWE/WHC... when 20 of them are still signed with the company.
