Hey all. I saw the official Hot Wheels thread, but it looked like it was specifically for monster trucks, and I didn't want to violate any protocols. So anyway, I'm a huge Ghostbusters fan. It's my only other geeky passion aside from wrestling. I collect almost anything pertaining to the movies and Real Ghostbusters cartoon. I've been wanting the Ecto-1 in any form, since I hadn't had one, since I was a kid - the one that went with my RGB action figures. So, I was looking around. I decided I didn't have the time or patience to put together a model kit, and the larger scale models are too rich for my blood. I settled on a Hot Wheels Ecto. After looking at a few, I settled on the following one... The roof equipment snaps off, so you can see the inside of the car, with all the tiny Ghostbusting gear inside. From what I've read, the tires are rubber, and it doesn't actually roll too well. I kind of like the card it came on - even if mine is a little imperfect. TL; DR - My question is - Was this particular Ecto a part of any larger series of TV/Movie vehicles? Thanks in advance!

That looks like the ones that are $5. If so that line has also produce the... '66 Batmobile Back to the Future car Knight Rider K.I.T.T Knight Rider C.A.R.R Footloose Volkswagen Rockford Files
Those are some of the ones I remember off the top of my head.

You're missing Cameron's rusted-out piece of crap Fiero from Ferris Bueller's Day Off, too. The wheels with rubber tires roll well, just don't count on them winning any downhill races or anything. Your only other options are the basic HW Ecto-1 (which is going for ridiculous money on the secondary market) or the Ghostbusters 2 Ecto-1, which is essentially the same as the one shown here, but with the extra banners and caution tape. MattyCollector was trying to gather preorders to put out an Ecto in scale with the six-inch line of figures, but they didn't even get halfway to the goal (the pricetag was a little too high to start with), so it was scrapped. I was really pulling for it, 'cuz it would've looked sexy next to my '66 Batmobile.

That's from the Retro Entertainment line. You made a great choice buying that one. The tires are rubber called Real Riders. Anyway There was A SDCC exclusive one that had the painted roof and came in a containment trap box, which is basically the same thing as the one you have.

There are a lot more different ones than those. There is the Smokey and The Bandit Trans Am and Kenworth truck, The Brady Bunch Wagon, Stroker Ace Thunderbird, Miami Vice Ferarri, The Mystery Machine, Flintmobile, Jetson's Capsule Car, USS Enterprise

I have this along with all the Batmobile variations too. One day I'm gonna break down and get the HW Elite Ecto-1 or 2. At least the 1/23 scale or whatever.
