Sorry if this is the wrong board.
What would wrestling be like if WCW never went out of busniess? Would WWE still be the same today or different?

Really depends on what you mean by "WCW still exists." Do you mean:
1. Vince still bought it but acquired a TV deal for it? 2. Bischoff bought it and acquired a TV deal for it? or 3. WCW won the Invasion?
Okay, that last one was a joke. I think the writing was on the wall for it that even if Bischoff's group was able to acquire WCW and a TV deal, I don't think it would have lasted long. I think at best WCW could be what TNA is now. I think if Vince had bought it and acquired a TV deal for it, that probably would have really just delayed the inevitable so we would have had the roster split first, then the invasion, and then be back to where we are now. Basically, what I'm saying is I don't think things would be much different. The wrestling fandom just isn't big enough to support more than one company right now.

Bryan Danielson as face of cruiserweight division by 04. Lance Storm would have eventually been WCW Champ.

I dunno.
Sid's leg would've fallen off a few more times.
Courtney Cox, Jay Leno, Conan O'Brien and Brooke Hogan would all be former WCW World Champions.

For wcw to survive nwo could never have been a thing and thats what saved wcw, so no Monday night wars and wwf would still be as it was, (still crap) and wrestling would be completely overtaken by ufc/mma sooner.

-- Gotta agree with the TNA not existing (or atleast until Jarrett got fed up with WCW)...
Under Bischoff's direction, Hogan would've eventually been involved once again - and Hogan doesn't hold the best track record for keeping things alive circa post-millennium (XWF, Hogan Knows Best, Hulk's Wrestling Tour, MCW, the bad thumbprint left in TNA)... therefore, I don't think WCW would still be around today.
Under Vince's direction, had he kept the promotion alive (which I was all in favor of, at that time), would have been reduced to what WWECW was on SyFy - a minor league show compared to RAW or SD!. But that's not to say it would've gone under; atleast what we got as "ecw" would have looked more appropriate as 'WCW' in terms of what a Sports Entertainment company should look like (something ECW was against, from the start). Only Vince would've determined whether to pull the trigger on WCW or not - but realistically, it would've been a fad, much like WWECW was (only been around for a few years - 4 years tops, at best!). Therefore, WCW wouldn't exist, had Vince kept it going after the Invasion.
Under a 3rd direction, who knows... all I know is, WCW had guys like Kid Kash, AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, Billy Kidman, Rey Jr., Booker T, Lance Storm, Kanyon, Chavo Guerrero, <3 Stacy Keibler & Torrie Wilson <3 , so who knows how far they would've gone, under the right hands ....
Good topic tho.

It would be drastically different. Competition is always good for a business like professional wrestling. WWE wouldn't have completely phoned in several years worth of the last decade. They'd actually have to try. They'd be progressive, they'd be creative, they would be doing what they could to stay on top, just as they did during the Monday Night Wars.
When you're the only game in town, it's easy to become complacent. WWE is immensely complacent, there's no denying that.

Nothing would be different at all.
Look at TNA in 2002, when they launched. It was essentially picking up the pieces of WCW. Jarrett, Scott Hall, the cruiserweights, ECW guys, and newly departed WWF guys like Raven. TNA evolved slowly into what they are now and if WCW hadn't gone under, they would've taken the same evolution, likely with the exact same players minus people like Dixie Carter. TNA IS WCW and the people who yearn for WCW to return are looking at the past through rose colored glasses. For the most part, WCW was pretty terrible but had the money to be terrible, fail constantly, and still come out on top. TNA is pretty much identical. Only difference is Billionaire Bob is playing wrestling promoter now instead of Billionaire Ted, and AOL isn't interested in the energy business.
