You said it, brotha. Him joining would be worth the price of admission to see Wrestlemania all in itself.

This is the latest "update" that is going around about this... My source WrestlingAttitude (Multiple sites have been posting this however):
"WWE Officials have reportedly believed for months that Sting was coming in this year and it's been talked about even more like it's going to happen recently."

I never understood why so many are clamoring for Sting vs Taker at Wrestlemania. Both wore black coats, so what? If Sting signed to wrestle one match at Mania why would he want it to be in a "no win" situation? I mean do people really believe Sting would end the streak? No, of coarse not. If Sting were to sign he'd be better off facing someone like Kane, Jericho, or maybe even Orton. Somebody that can give Sting the win without losing any creditability. You make an excellent point. As a die hard Sting fan, I would much rather see him get a win. BUT....Sting/UT is a dream match. At one point, both portrayed very dark and mystical characters who had powers. Both have not shown that side in quite sometime. But thats more for why the match got so built up. The power of UT vs. the power of Sting. Even if Sting was too lose, which I am 99% sure he would, its still something I would like to see. In fact, its the only reason I have any interest in seeing UT at all at this point. Sadly, I am hearing that Sting, if signed, may just be headed for some multi man match to help DB/Cena perhaps. That would be a waste of time. Sting/UT....or Sting in some major feud with another major star like a Kane or Orton. Any multi man match would be a waste.

Ive watched Sting since the late 80s and he's never....ever...ever...ever ever ever ever ever had or used any mystical powers. There's more of a comparison between Papa Shango & The Undertaker then Taker & Sting.

When Sting turned to the Crow gimmick, he would turn lights on and off. He would appear and disappear like when he stalked Hogan. He be there and gone the next. He made thunder and lightning strike, most notably at the MCI center against Hogan for the WCW Title. Announcers would elude to a temperature change. Things of that nature.

If they do bring in Sting, I have a feeling that WM30 will be really special.

It's not as if they'll need him to sell the PPV and with more and more big names returning, it's less and less likely that they'll be willing to throw enough money at him to make it worth his while.

I think everyone just has the image in their mind when thinking of Undertaker vs Sting on paper, that it'll be the battle of the dark forces. Undertaker in his full phenom glory and powers, against the dark mystical Sting, both in there trenchcoats, long black hair and rain and lightning galore. The reality is however, that Taker is now bald, Sting wears a T Shirt, and both are out of shape. Sting should of returned for Wrestlemania 27 when they were doing all those Promo's. Like I said, on paper it fits the bill for Wrestlemania XXX, but the actual Match and showdown itself will be a disappointment.

Are they both past their prime? Yes. Should this have happened years ago? Yes. Would I still revert to a twelve year old and scream/weep if these two were in the same ring? Yes.
The Undertaker could come out on Raw and not say a word. Sting could come out with a bat and not say a word, just point the bat at Taker and point his other hand at the WMXXX banner. I would mark the F out.
Just my two cents.

I think a tag match with someone is more realistic for Sting.
W/Cena vs The Wyatts handicap maybe?
that means I wont get Cena vs UT though.....grr

UPDATE:"It's believed that the reason Sting worked two rare non-televised live events for TNA last weekend is because he owed the company two dates on his existing contract, which is expiring. As previously reported, the impression within WWE lately is that Sting will finally be coming into the company in the near future." Source: rajah.com/node/38769-------------------------------------------------------------------------- According to the latest reports, WWE officials seem to be under the impression that Sting will be coming into the company for WrestleMania XXX. The company has been forced to wait to begin official negotiations with Sting until his TNA contract expired, but as of late, the talk in WWE is that it's going to happen this year. Only Sting himself really knows what his actual plans are at this point, but the impression WWE officials have is that they will end up reaching a deal. Source: rajah.com/node/38765 ---------------------------------------------------------------- All signs are pointing to "Pass GO, Collect $200". Say what you will. Hate as much as you want. Sting at Mania will be awesome in any capacity. I'd prefer a singles match with a Main Eventer, but at this point either way would be bad ass.

If Sting doesn't have a match with Taker, I'm completely uninterested.

I'm enthused by this news because I would love to see Sting in a WWE ring, particularly at WM. I also hope its not a singles match vs Undertaker. I have a feeling that no matter how hard Undertaker and Sting would try they are both a little too old and a little too broken down to put on a really good singles match. The time for Undertaker/Sting at WM was 5-10 years ago. I think the best we could hope for now would be something like Cena teaming up with Hogan and Sting vs the Shield or the Wyatt Family.

You probably view the word "mystical" differently than I. ...lol...why would you not just look up the definition to make sure you're using the right word? www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/mysticalFull Definition of MYSTICAL
1a : having a spiritual meaning or reality that is neither apparent to the senses nor obvious to the intelligence b : involving or having the nature of an individual's direct subjective communion with God or ultimate realitySting doesn't/hasn't fit either of these definitions. You could probably make a case for 'supernatural' - but not mystical.

Based on your definition....how is The Undertaker mystical? I dont see him fitting either of those definitions. Sting is definitely more spiritual than UT. He has used his connection with God in some promos, specifically against Abyss when he was trying to sever the Abyss/James Mitchell relationship.
