So Lockdown is coming to Miami on March 9th and I was planning on going with my buddy. I used to drive up to Orlando a few times a year to watch PPVs and I went to the house show the one time they came to Ft. Lauderdale. So I see that they are doing Fan Interaction that weekend and the cost of the ticket is $129. This caught me a bit off guard. Maybe it's just me, but why am I paying $129 for a TNA Fan Interaction?
When I went to the house show in fort lauderdale, I paid $70 for the show and merch, and I met Magnus, Gunner, Zema Ion, Austin Aries, Jeff Hardy, Samoa Joe, and Gail Kim. If Sting is gone by March, why on earth are they charging that much for Fan Interaction? Also, I went to Axxess down here for Mania 28 and that was only $50 per session. So even if TNA does the two sessions for $129, that's still more expensive than 2 WWE Axxess sessions. I just think TNA is a bit delusional, and that's coming from a guy whose been watching since 03/04 and loves that roster.
Why would TNA not do a fan interaction 2 hours before the show and then roll it up into the ticket price? They want to build their fan base but they want people to fork over $200 for fan interaction and a ticket to the show for a roster full of guys that, let's be honest, they really don't know? This is why TNA only gets 200 people at their shows. Only the hardcore fans are going, they aren't marketing properly and they think they're bigger than what they are. TNA is a glorified Indy company posing as WCW.
I don't know, maybe it's because I've met most of the guys on the roster, including Angle and Hardy who are the only draw talents, assuming Sting leaves, but I was just really disappointed when I saw that pricing. The U of M campus isn't exactly close, and it's definitely not centrally located to pull from all 3 counties. I'm not going to spend $129 and then drive an hour to meet the American Wolves. If it was Hogan, Flair, Sting, and AJ Styles was still there, ok, but that isn't the case. Anyone else experience this type of thing in their area? I'm almost afraid to see what the ticket prices for the show will be when they go up.

Yeah that pricing doesn't sound very fair.

This made my week. The saying funny cause it's true has never applied more than it does here.

I'm almost afraid to see what the ticket prices for the show will be when they go up. The raise in price from $99 to $129 I can see you having issue with. But not sure how you can compare a TNA house show and a Fan Interaction. At a TNA house show, you have a basic idea of who is going to be there. You DONT know who will be at the meet n greet. Also, if you Magnus, Gunner, Zema, Austin, Hardy, Joe and Gail in your meet n greet, you lucked out. Only ONCE did I get a loaded meet n greet out of the hundred or so TNA shows I have done. And thats when the show got rained out. Otherwise, I have NEVER gotten such a loaded meet n greet. So that is a 1 in a million opportunity you had. Its not normal. You usually get something like Magnus, Gunner, Storm, Zema, Robbie E and Gail Kim. You got really lucky. You paid $50 for a GA ticket to Axxess. At this event you are guaranteed ZERO autographs and ZERO pictures. Fan Interaction, you are GUARANTEED to get TNA superstars. No, they dont guarantee you get everyone and its very difficult to do, but you are guaranteed to get some, depending on the lines you choose. In addition, at Axxess you dont know who is gonna be at what station. You get there. You get in line and minutes before it starts a text message goes out, if you are signed up for it, and it tells you who is at which station. Its also possible that someone you want an autograph from is at a photo booth...meaning no autograph. Even at the $129 price point, TNA remains a HUGELY better bargain. And if you want a big name like a Jeff or Angle.....if you get into their line first....you will guarantee yourself that particular autograph. Also, you can get more than 1 and a picture. Axxess its generally just the 1 auto and most of the time, you get a picture. TNA will only draw 200 people....at some shows....because they fail to advertise and market their product in that area. People dont even know the show is coming. WWE wants $600 for their meet n greet ticket with 2 surprise WWE Superstars. Talk about a ripoff. Lastly, I can completely understand your lack of desire to put time into travel, money into tickets, etc when the people you want are not there. But thats a personal view.....not the reality of the situation. There are cons going on every weekend in the north east...wrestling, celeb, comic, toy, horror, etc. I dont go to everyone. Sometimes there is a guest or 2 and I dont go b/c it isnt worth the travel costs and ticket costs for just 1 or 2 names. Other times, I have flown halfway across the US for someone that I am a big fan....a single name. For instance I will be flying to Dallas for Dallas comic Con. The reason is Stephen Amell...star of Arrow. I'll get a few other names while I am there, but the reason is for Amell.

It's cost of putting on the event vs expected cost of attendance. People will qualify this as "YOU GET TO MEET SO AND SO", that's really not the case. TNA has to pay to use the building they're in plus cost of employees and whatever else. Because they don't have the same size fan base as WWE, the draw is always lower, which they can then argue you pay of "intimacy". But for TNA it's a break even and make some money scenario not a bleed your fans dry scenario.

I went to a fan interaction back in 2007 when they first started to take their ppv's on the road. It was in st. louis. The fan interaction was loaded. It had Sting, Kurt Angle, Christian, Raven, Rhino, The Dudleys, New Age Outlaws, Scott Steiner, Jerry Lynn, Aj Styles, Samoa Joe, Daniels, plus more. Pretty much everyone on the roster at the time. I think I paid $99 for the ticket maybe even less. I can understand that this was when they first started leaving the impact zone for ppv so they loaded it up to make it a big deal. But even at the house shows I've been to since I've been able to get almost everyone on the card to sign something and take a pic. I've gotten Hardy, Angle, Flair, Sting, Styles, Joe, you name it all at house shows. This is just when they come to my area. I also went to the "main event" fan interaction they had when they came to st. louis in 2010. I think it was $300 and I also had no problem paying that for Hogan, Sting, and Flair plus everyone else on the roster. That being said. If I was planning on going to this current fan interaction and I saw the list of names they have advertised and then the current price, I would pass on it. The names listed just aren't a big enough selling point for me to pay that. Keep in mind I'm in Oklahoma and I'm not in an area where there is a con going all the time. So this may be a good price when compared to that idk.

TNA is definitely an indy fed, IMO and always will be. Just because they have a TV doesn't mean they are #2 anything. WXO had a TV show and sure it didn't last near as long as TNA but even if it had we'd consider it an indy fed because of how it was presented and came off. I thought WXO was awesome but it wasn't presented as anything in a competition for #1. TNA, despite small attempts, has never and will never be in any competitive running with WWE, WCW or even ECW. Considering it anything more than an indy fed is putting down the hard work of McMahon, WWE wrestlers and staff, Heyman, ECW wrestlers and staff, Bischoff and some of WCW, many indy feds that do "try" and even fans of various promotions.
TNA is a fed started by a guy who had no where to go. WCW was gone and he left WWF THREE TIMES already. It is a fed run by someone who is basically a larger scale version of someone whose parents are rich enough to afford a wrestler to come to their birthday party.
You can have Kurt Angle, Jeff Hardy, Hogan, Sting and a few other random former WWE names and it doesn't mean anything. Angle and Hardy aren't mentally in WWE shape, Hogan is known just as much as company killer as he is a company savior and Sting has probably rarely even considered WWE.
The January 2010 episode of TNA, the rebirth so to speak, was presented, and certainly came off, as "a glorified Indy company posing as WCW." Even calling it an indy fed posing as WCW is inappropriate. More like "an indoor version of a backyard fed posing as an indy fed posing as WCW."

Now that they have added Great Muta to the fan interaction it has become worth it. If I was in the area it would be a definite buy.

What I find funnier is how some of you either are just taking shots at TNA cuz its "the cool thing to do"....or you really have no idea what the definition of an indy company is?
