Anybody else feel bad for Rey? Without spoiling anything the WWE put him in a really bad spot tonight I mean he got boo'd out of the building for the first time i can remember because of where they put him. It should have been a heel coming in there.

It was just a complete cluster . Not only did Rey look bad but every single person in that ring, hell even Punk to a degree looked bad because of this.

I do feel bad for Rey. He didn't deserve any of the hate he received.

I felt bad for him, but it had to be done.

I love you guys sometimes. But in all seriousness if they couldn't have Bryan there it needed to be a major heel crap even the undertaker it needed something. And I agree that it made everyone look bad not just rey. There was one exception though and that's Reigns. If there was ever a time for the WWE to make a split second decision it was right there. Reigns winning once that crowd picked him over Batista would have been incredible and saved the PPV instead we have to deal with the next few months of bitching on the internet and crowds hopefully eating the product alive verbally.

I thought it was hilarious. Rey is so out of the mix now that we all (the people I was watching with) forgot that he was even part of the match, and were expecting Bryan. As soon as the buzzer sounded and it was Mysterio, the butthurt of the crowd was so funny. Rey's had his career, and he doesn't matter as much as he used to, it doesn't change his legendary status or inevitable hall of fame legacy.

Yeah. I felt totally bad for him (as did my girlfriend), but that's just they way it was. Friendly fire, sure, but they should have called an audible in the back and sent Bryan out instead. There's no heel they could have put there that would have worked better or gotten the proper heat.

The last time I thought Rey was booed as bad as tonight was, ironically at the Royal Rumble six years ago against Edge. Then again, the show was at MSG and New York has a vocal crowd. I truly felt bad for Mysterio since he had no control over the crowd reaction. He was simply booed because WWE made the boneheaded decision of leaving Daniel Bryan out of the Royal Rumble this year and the fans in attendance gave WWE hell and crapped on the match when it was immediately apparent that Bryan wasn't in the match. Even if Rey wasn't the #30 entry, almost anyone would have been heckled at by the fans.
I'm just simply dumbfounded and baffled about Bryan being left out of the Rumble. It isn't more apparent that WWE simply doesn't care what the fans want, and it depresses me a bit.

While on the subject of Rey, I will say that I had a sinking feeling in my stomach when I realized that he was going to be #30 and not Daniel Bryan. After Big E's entrance, I tried to think if there were any already announced participant who had yet to enter. I then thought to myself, "Goddammit, it's Rey." Then Michael Cole said it himself and I lost all interest up until the moment where it looked like Roman Reigns could actually win.
But yes, I did feel bad for him, as well as everyone else who was in the ring at the time.

It was sad.
Like said already at the very least it should have been a heel.
Of course Bryan should have just been it and won but the powers that be would rather push their buddy..

Just a bad, bad decision. Really should have been an audible called there. I don't feel bad for Rey, no disrespect to him but he's just not a big deal anymore, it's not like the roof blows off the building for him any other time either.

I actually said that in the official thread. It wasn't fair to Rey or just about any of the guys out there really.

I bet Rey got a kick out of being booed like that for the first time ever.

I feel more bad that I completely forgot he was in the match and he cut a promo before it.

You gotta feel bad for the guy. One of the biggest reactions of the night and he got booed. He was only booed because they thought it was Bryan.

The rest of the match just fell apart after Rey came out. I never seen a crowd go from hot to cold so fast before. Sheamus even got loud "no" chants in his big return during his little routine. Batista, The guy that WWE tried to market as the HUGE RETURN a week earlier, got booed out of the damn building a week later.
Fail.
