I'll humor your thought for a minute... I will say this, IF by some odd stroke of luck (the moons are aligned) (Dixie finds a genie in a bottle) Punk did end up in TNA, here's what they would need to do to do it right.... They must be willing to bring in other talent to have him feed off. Live mic. Signing Colt would be a must. Punk would have to convince Heyman to join. Joe would have to get a push for a dream feud against Punk. Daniels & Kaz would need to resign. Dixie would have to step back. Way back. No further back. AJ would need to return. Maybe bring in Devitt & a few others from Japan. TNA would have to have a extreme makeover but then & only then would I think it could be a game changer. Not necessarily a threat to WWE, but it certainly would help TNA flourish. But I think we have a better chance of Eva Marie headlining Wrestlemania. Is Aries and Joe not enough?

I've been watching the weekly syndicated RoH show for 6 months now that is available in my area. I don't recall a single instance of blood or foul language that would have to be toned down for a national TV deal. I also don't see how the addition of one wrestler like CM Punk would be the difference in getting a national TV deal. He's good...but not that good. Its the name. He has global recognition. The smarks would eat it up, because Punk would have no restraints. In ring or on the mic. The casual fans that have become Punk followers may tune in to see him. It would be up to ROH or TNA to promote the hell out of him. Television spots, social media... Radio. I'm not saying Punk is the leader to an opposition to tear down the WWE, but I'm saying he might be the one who could back a company that could go head to head atleast in due time. Okay, I get your point now and sort of agree. Punk alone won't get it done but combine it with proper promotion, a few more high profile returns like AJ Styles, and good booking so that the casual fan becomes a regular viewer. This could lead to good things for RoH. They would have to do some work on their production values first though. They are fine for an indie promotion with a syndicated show but expectations are higher for a regular weekly network show. Thing is, in no way should WWE even be on their radar. If they set their sites on a national network deal they would need to concentrate on being better than TNA. I don't remember a time when there has ever been more than two successful promotions with national network deals. I know WWE, WCW, and ECW all had national deals at the same time ~2000 but lets be honest, both WCW and ECW were dying at the time. I think two promotions is the magic number for market saturation. RoH would have to get a network deal and knock TNA out of the picture within 6-12 months. Punk could be the man to tip the scales in their favor in that battle. Edit: I didn't even consider Punk going to TNA. TNA has had over a decade to establish themselves as a big time promotion and keep falling short. Not even Punk could help an organization with that stigma hanging over it like a big black storm cloud.

You should know Punk by now. He wants everything his way or no way. I completely agree with marino13. CM Punk isnt like the rest of the past talent.

Let's just say theoretically that this is real. And that Punk has the slightest interest in working for TNA. And that there'd be no legal repercussions for him showing up in their company. Hulk Hogan, Kurt Angle, and Sting all worked for TNA and no one gave a damn. CM Punk, while hugely popular, doesn't possess the namesake that any of these guys do. If they couldn't even make TNA a blip on WWE's radar, why in the world would CM Punk? I'm not so sure. I know what you're saying as in CM Punk isn't exactly a household name in the sense that the average guy on the street would of heard of him. However, the way the WWE has been the last few years, if anyone would capture the attention of at least the fans that regularly tune in, it would be CM Punk. The possibility of him walking out on the WWE just weeks before Wrestlemania, showing up on TNA and shooting on the WWE would be something everyone would buy into.

The reason he left WWE was because he was unhappy with the booking, and people coming back and getting the title shots and main event slots at PPV's Why would he go to TNA who have a history for bringing people in and pushing them over their own home grown talent. If Punk went to TNA he'd be nothing but a liar and a hypocrite.

At that point, I feel like the WWE would finally push Bryan to his full potential just so that the fans are finally happy(somewhat) to try to cover up the whole CM Punk thing. I do agree with you though Dan.

If Punk doesn't work in WWE, I don't see him working anywhere else.

The possibility of him walking out on the WWE just weeks before Wrestlemania, showing up on TNA and shooting on the WWE would be something everyone would buy into. I just don't see it. TNA has such little exposure to the average wrestling fan I just don't think people would care. Sure, you and I would tune in. A lot of people from this community undoubtedly would, whether they currently watch TNA or not. Still, that's such a small amount of people that it's really not going to make a difference. I think to a large portion of wrestling fans, WWE is simply the only game in town. For many, WWE is the only company they've ever known. They weren't around during the Monday Night Wars. They don't see opposing companies as being "legitimate", so to speak. They don't know what a shoot is, and they probably don't care. CM Punk is one of my absolute favorites, but I think assuming he'd make an impact in TNA (no pun intended) is exaggerating his drawing power. As previously mentioned, short of The Rock (because of the mainstream Hollywood appeal/attention), I don't think any person could single-handedly create a dramatic boost for TNA. And even then, I'm not sure it would happen. I honestly don't think it matters what TNA does. Unless we enter another boom period and new, rabid fans are chomping at the bits for more wrestling and a lot of variety, I think TNA has reached its peak.

Punk is a WWE guy and I'm 100% sure he's going to stay a WWE guy.

Once again, we are jumping to conclusion. We are talking about where he might go and we aren't even one hundred percent sure that he isnt in the WWE anymore.
Jeez. Can we go off what we know and not just assumptions?

Can we go off what we know and not just assumptions? But we don't really know anything! So I'm Just going to assume he landed a movie deal and has to start filming immediately and WWE is using his time away for an angle. Then when he does come back and promotes his film and wins the title we can all jump on the "hypocrite band-wagon". Hey, dirt sheets... run with this!

It lasted a good while too, I still think they would need to build the whole company around him if they would want to build any momentum. If Punk signed to TNA right now with the way things are, the buzz would die down awfully quick.
