That's horrible news. He was a great actor. Also really liked him in Catching Fire. RIP I knew I recognized him! I looked at the news sites and saw pics of him but couldn't really place him somewhere. But there we go. Catching Fire. Also from that Family Guy scene where Peter says he was the girl in Titanic. Lol.

Liked him as Dusty in Twister (secretly one of my favorite and most quoted movies).

That's horrible news. He was a great actor. Also really liked him in Catching Fire. RIP Curious how his death is going to affect Mockingjay. They said he was finished with Mockingjay Pt. 1 and only had a week left of filming for Pt. 2, and his death "would not delay the films."

The first film I remember him from was Boogie Nights, which was fantastic. Just another reason for me to hate drugs. I guess life sucks so badly that so many people desperately need to escape it. Wonder what drugs Colorado and Washington are gonna legalize next. Oh my....

Liked him as Dusty in Twister (secretly one of my favorite and most quoted movies). Absolutely this. Love Twister, and Dusty was my favorite character. I can't say I'm familiar with his work outside of Twister very much, but he was the absolute best part about that movie.

The guy was absolutely incredible. I wish I saw him in death of a salesman. Rest in peace.

great actor and a serious talent lost. have liked him since his turn as Freddie in Red Dragon.
I totally wouldn't have had him pegged for a Heroin user.

Such a shame. Incredible talent.
I was vaguely aware that he had a drug issue, but had no idea it was that bad. I know he checked himself into rehab at one point or another, I guess I just assumed he'd gotten better. Not someone you'd peg as a hard drug user.

Damn those demons. They never really leave you. (as I look at my avatar) I feel so sorry for his children. May they find peace in these hard times.

I first found out about him through that Family Guy scene Dean F'n Ambrose mentioned. I later saw the episode of Arthur where he guest-starred as a fictional version of himself. The animators did an amazing job with his character model.
Never seen any of his films, but R.I.P. I'm going to dedicate the next episode of my TV show in his honor. And I don't think it's fair to say people who use drugs or abuse get no sympathy. There are some addictions people have that never leave them. You never realize what drugs do to you until they do it to you.

One of the best of his generation. Very sad. Addiction is a disease of the mind, body and soul. Drug or otherwise. Unfortunately for he and his family, this was one disease he just couldn't cure.

I'm still shocked and saddened by this news. Goodbye to one of the greats.

He was a really gifted actor. It is a shame his addiction got the better of him.

I've been a fan of his work for years. Definitely a gifted and versatile actor. The last film I'd seen him in was "Pirate Radio" where he plays 'The Count' a disc jockey for an illegal radio station which took place on a boat in the 60's. Highly recommended if you haven't seen it.
Anyway, I was both shocked and saddened when I heard the news of his passing.
