Hey guys, When I got home from work last night, a package was waiting for me and I knew it HAD to be my very latest MOC WWF LJN figure which I won off eBay. Whatever you do, don't call him "Beach Bum", call him The Magnificent Don Muraco!! Still in fantastic shape for being as old as it is. It does have some slight damage, but that's perfectly fine with me. The seller also included 2 nice freebees because he told me he didn't get the package sent out on time, so he included something extra. I was pleased to find these included: Can't go wrong with extras like that!!

That looks near perfect aside from the bottom.
As for the Muraco toy itself, I would love to find a picture of him wearing that exact shirt. Only thing similar I could find is a blue lettered shirt in the 1985 Superstars game. I thought I saw the one LJN made in a picture but couldn't find it lately. I would also have liked his toy to have the updated card back (with S.D., Bruno, Funk). That 1985 card back seems to have been given to everyone into 1986.
Nice he sent you those extras too.

I did a google image search to find a live pic of the shirt he wore (I thought I saw it with yellow lettering or maybe that was the thumb wrestler proto).
What I did find was a card back of his toy that had the 1987 backing. So it seems he was rereleased, as many of the 84-87 guys were.
Edit: the yellow lettered MM was the poster and the thumb proto.

^interesting to find a backing with 1987...i actually have two cardbacks (one Volkoff and one Beefcake) that actually have Hogan on the back... never seen them before...i know these are legit as the person actually cut out the bubble and left on the part that is connected to the cardback, and the sticker... havent been able to find any info on the early releases re-released onto Hogan #1 cardbacks
btw, Great pickup Mr. Old School

Some of the LJNs were still being advertised in 1987 (kind of different than Hasbro with the "may no longer be available).
Beefcake and Volkoff were pictured in the bad guys section of the 1987 catalog and on the large poster that featured all the guys but Snuka and Sheik. Not hard to believe they may have been rereleased on the 1987 backing. They had probably seen two or three different backs by that time.

Small letters on the shirt too, don't see that too often.
