Ok this is getting stupid. 12.99 was perfect for the elites. Then they moved it to 15.99 which I grudged paying but wasn't to bad. A year later another price change in 16.99 which I grudged paying so only got the ones I need. Just been on the website now. And there friggin £17.99 !!!!! For the New elite figures unfortunately I'll after pay it for this Full Set as its the best one ever. But mattel where is your common sence. You make a prettier box which lets face it biggest majority of shoppers for figures are kids. Who just through away the box. You can hear mums in shops saying I'm not paying that for one figure have a basic figure. What they don't understand is its like a reaction. Once people Stop buying the shelfs get filled. And once the shelfs are filled shops stop having them. And if shops stop having them it's basically stopping mattels business

Look at the detail in that Fandango though! I'd happily pay £20 for him.

The Elites have been £17.99 in TRU for a while now. Unfortunately, it's just the increasing costs of materials needed to produce figures... Mattel aren't really to blame - other similar collector-based lines such as Marvel Legends and Star Wars 6" figures retail for £16.99 - £19.99 too. I'd like to still pay £13 - £15 per figure too... but when you consider the alternative (importing the figures, or buying them from places like Wrestling World), then £17.99 isn't too bad... especially for the rarer or harder to find figures.

Anyone remember when Jakks CS figs were £6.99? For sure. Or when B&M got the last few classic sets in (series 18 and up) for £3.99. When we were younger we could build giant rosters as the figures were just a few quid each. I feel bad for kids these days not having the ability to do that without affluent parents. I've skipped Elite 25 and 26 because I can do without any of them, but there are 4 in E27 I'd like to buy. After that I'll have to only purchase the absolute must haves unless they do price reductions on shelf warmers (which will happen as the new price drives more people away.)

Half the reason I don't buy (many) Mattels is 'cause they're WAY too expensive. £100 for 5 figures is not on. I literally have thousands of Jakks figures. I have about 20 Mattels, if that. And that's mainly figs that Jakks never made (Savage, Tensai, Steamboat). I would get the Outlaws too, despite having an amazing Billy Gunn fix up.

Considering these figures are aimed at kids 17:99 is to much, What kid gets more than a fiver pocket money a week? I mean were alright I assume we all have jobs or some sort of income cus this shizz ain't cheap!
But what parent in their right mind is gonna pay 17:99 for something a kids gonna destroy in oh I dunno an hour! -.-
Personally for me? Their gonna have to start giving me more for 18quid!
Having the elites @ 16:99 is what kinda gave Smyth's the edge over TRU and considering Smyth's don't get exclusives I'd say this isn't exactly best for business...
(you see what I did there?!) lol ^-^

Places like Sweden and Germany pay like £30 for them. Be greatful.
The only flaw with prices on mattel's is the BAF elite set.

The only flaw with prices on mattel's is the BAF elite set. Yep, which is what's putting me off the JR CM Punk if we ever get him. £8 extra for a pair of legs, or arms, or a head?

Yeah well that's the 3rd price increase in what 3years? In another 3years we'll probably be ordering from places like Sweden and Germany cus they'll be cheaper but hey atleast manners are still free!... -.- lol

I didn't want to pay £25 for a big show figure. But, still bought it as I wanted it to build Ricardo. £8 x 4 is 32 so your getting a BAF for £32 while the figure costs £16.99 (17.99 now I guess). I'll still gladly pay £25 for a BAF for the whole figure.

People make it sound like it's devastating like a £10 increase!!!, people need to chill.

I know & appreciate that man but you collect because you love it so do I, I really don't like the possibility that ppl will be pushed out of collecting or be unable to collect because the figs got too expensive... In the long run thats bad for all of us, Figs get to expensive, shops stop stocking them, Mattel start making smaller numbers, figures become more collectible by default and that will push even more ppl out, I've seen it happen before with anime figs the company just got to greedy which eventually led to the whole line being dropped -.-

Just think back in the Jakks days you all said you'd stop if they reached this price, now they have and there are still a lot of you buying them.
You begrudged these prices in the Jakks days but now it's the norm for all toy companies, that's what happens when global recessions go on.

I don't know how anyone collects them these days with these prices. Makes me glad I stopped years ago when it wasn't extortionate.

- at the end of the day, if people are willing to pay these prices, which they/we do, then they will stay at these prices, it doesnt help when people pay twice or more for figures from ebay and other online stores so the main compainies, being mattel/smyths/TRU, wont see a problem in charging these prices.
I for one will buy what i want for a price i'm happy to pay but if i know i wont get it for the price i want, ie not reduced in store or a licky find online, then i'll pay retail price. This isnt going to stop unless sales drop which they wont as parents will buy figures their kids want, i had a couple looking for basic sheild but left with elites because the store had sold out of basics.
