Such a shame. But 85 is a great run and she certainly made the most of it.

She's one a very small number of child actors who didn't end up in some sort of trouble. She really set an example on how to grow up correctly. I'm glad she had a long life.

I can't say that I've seen more than a handful of clips from her film career, but there is no doubt that she ranks very high, possibly number one, in a list of the all-time great child actors.
To some, 85 is still young, but I believe she would have lived a full life in all her years. Rest in peace.

It's sad to see anyone die.
I doubt anyone on these boards actually was a fan of her work though. I say that just cause she was 85, her last role was in 1963. So unless you went out of your way to watch her on film you prob never saw anything she was in.

I was especially a fan of her movies when I was a kid, but I still appreciate them today. Some of my favorites are actually the ones she did as a teenager, particularly The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer with Cary Grant. It's really sad she's gone, but she had an amazing life.

To some, 85 is still young, but I believe she would have lived a full life in all her years. Rest in peace. People born in the 1920s had a life expectancy of less than 60, so she did indeed like a full life. I don't even think the average life expectancy of someone born in the last few years has reached 85. As far as her work goes, I was a fan of hers when I was a kid because she was like the Little Rascals and Three Stooges in that her work always seemed to be on one of the channels. RIP, Shirley.
