I can't buy into this. I try saying it and it just sounds weird.

Goddammit why do they do stupid crap like this?
Do they think people are too dumb to remember a full name? It's not like every other major athlete on the planet doesn't go by their full names.

That's weird. Works better for crowd chants though, I guess.

Hopefully this is a main-event push decision.

the dropping of part of a name is usually a good sign.... Batista, Dave Goldberg, Bill Sheamus, O'Shanessy

Ehhh.....I guess it could be worse. I just hope,no matter how over he is, he remains a heel. Natural heels just work better when left alone these days. Look at what going babyface has done for Ziggler. And I'm not talking about his burial, but his character has been kinda neutered since july in my view. It waters even the best heels down to go face while they are on fire as heel. Anyway,as for this name alteration, remember Vince likes to keep everything short like a soundbyte. So.....this is no surprise really.

Most of you hated the Antonio Cesaro name at first... It'll grow on you.

Wut? Really WWE? I know some people may have difficulty spelling Antonio but that name was actually one of the alright names coming from WWE!

"Antonio.. sounds too much like Anthony, which is John Cena's middle name. Better drop it." - VKM

I didn't like it when TNA dropped Christopher Daniels' and Frankie Kazarian's first names, and I don't like this. Seems like this happens too often nowadays (Luckily TNA now calls Daniels with his first name, and Kazarian works fine anyway).
But thank God they dropped most of "Carlito Carribean Cool". That sounded just awful.
Also Kofi Kingston had another part of his name in developmental, can't remember what it was but glad he debuted without it.

I don't see what the big deal is, they just dropped his first name. It's not like they changed it to something terrible or added something in between his name like Antonio "The Swinger" Cesaro . I refer to him as Cesaro anyways. Plus, we all have figs that we can look back on in a few years and say, "Remember when the WWE World Heavyweight Intercontinental Tag champ of the United States was known as ANTONIO Cesaro?"
That's right folks, in a few years Cesaro will hold ALL belts and it all starts with droppong his first name. Is Antonio even a common Swiss name???

God. Listen to this now.
WWE Drops Another Part of Superstar Name?
Yesterday we reported that WWE seems to have dropped Antonio Cesaro's first name, and is just referring to him as Cesaro. WWE now seems to be doing the same thing with Big E. Langston, as his Twitter name and name on WWE.com is listed as just "Big E." Big E's WWE superstar bio, however, still makes reference to Langston.

I really dont understand why people are bothered by this.
As a poster above stated, you guys remember SUPER SUPER SUCCESSFUL SUPERSTARS NAMED GOLDBERG, SHEAMUS or BATISTA???
They debuted with first and/or last names also - and the 3 of them are now 3 of the most successful people in the industry's history. RELAX!!!!!!
