the dropping of part of a name is usually a good sign.... Batista, Dave Goldberg, Bill Sheamus, O'Shanessy Lashley, Bobby Shad, Gaspard Snitsky, Gene

Lashley, Bobby Shad, Gaspard Snitsky, Gene When did they only call him Lashley? I always remember him having Bobby in there. I actually remember a verrrrryyyy short period (would've had to be very late 05 or 06) where his titantron and name plate were each changed to just "Lashley." Chimmel still announced him as "Bobby Lashley," and "Bobby" came back after a few weeks. EDIT- here we go, December 2005 (not trying to maliciously prove your wrong, just trying to show my somewhat embarrassing knowledge of wrestling details.)

I really don't see the point of this. Cesaro isn't a badass enough name to stand alone. Now it just seems awkward without the first name. It really doesn't have that Goldberg or Ryback impact.

In fact I thought of it on main event last night because Chimel actually used the name change in Big Es intro but he didn't in Lashleys some time ago.

Another guy who had his name shortened, Sylvain Grenier.

Batista, Dave Goldberg, Bill Sheamus, O'Shanessy Lashley, Bobby Shad, Gaspard Snitsky, Gene The fact that Cesaro is in the EC and neither Shad nor Snitsky ever did anything, ever should be reason enough to count them off the list... and Lashley left the WWE looking to do MMA, despite having a good amount of success whilst with WWE

Dumb. But he's awesome and needs a big push soon. Hopefully a world title reign. I get more and more impressed by him with every match.

I guess Antonio doesn't sound American enough.
