A Legendary Era

Thoughts on this?? Are people excited?? Satisfied with the matches?? I know there's a lot of repeat matches from former DVD sets, but for a WCW best of Vol. 1, they really hit the ball out of the park with this set!! A lot of great matches, and this will definitely be a must buy for me.

I highly doubt I buy many more PPV match compilation DVDs. If it wasn't for the network, this would be a must buy as well as the new HBK DVD that came out.

I wasn't blown away by the list, and they have gotten into a bad habit of putting the same talent in these sets over-and-over again, or just straight up the same matches. That's not remembering WCW, that's selling DVDs with an agenda. I get it, but it's horse sh*t for the fans. Some really good pre 1996 stuff, but pfffff at the rest. I love that we are getting Steiner vs DDP from Greed though. I think it's actually going to take the extras to make me buy this upon release. Otherwise, I'll just wait until I can get it off ebay for $10 or so.

I think that if this DVD came out years ago, it would be must more enjoyable. But it does look like a Best Of WWE DVD Releases of WCW DVDS already.

For example...

Flair vs. Garvin was on Bloodbath
Dusty vs. Barry was on History of WCW
Dusty/Sting vs. Arn/Tully was on Dusty Rhodes
Flair vs. Steamboat was on Steamboat DVD and Greatest Stars of the 80s DVD
Luger vs. Pillman was on the Pillman DVD
Luger vs. Windham was on the WCW Title DVD
Liger vs. Pillman was on the Pillman DVD
War Games 92 was JUST on the War Games DVD
Austin vs. Steamboat was on an old Austin DVD
Hogan vs. Flair in the cage was on a DVD too
and of course Bash At The Beach 96 match has been on MANY DVDs.

But what do you expect right?? It is the Best of WCW PPV matches, and the matches there are great. It's just a shame they've been released so many times before on other WWE DVD releases.

I honestly can't see why anyone would buy the Blu Ray to get these matches. I always figured that the Blu Ray extra matches were supposed to be amazing, so you had a reason to purchase said Blu Ray.

Rodman vs. Savage though?!?! I remember seeing this live when it happened at the Road Wild PPV and it was a disaster.

If only Bret Hart vs. Chris Benoit from Mayhem 99 could be on here.... if only... *sigh*
