I've been thinking about this for a few days and maybe I dont know how the network is exactly going to work, but does anybody else think maybe, having WrestleMania as the first PPV on the Network is a little risky? Say something happens with the feed or whatever, theres going to be probably a million people watching this PPV. While Im sure they have professionals on hand for this, you never know; they also have professional writers and look at some things we get Lol.

Thankfully, I'll be there live, but that'd be bad if the feed crashed. This could be a serious problem.

I agree that there has to be some question on how well this is going to work, especially at Mania volume/viewership. I know they've worked closely with the MLBTV people, so hopefully that flushes out any issues they might foresee upon launch, as I know from personal experience that MLBTV has gone through a learning process to get where they're at now. I think I have lingering questions solely because WWE has struggled to really demonstrate high level streaming quality in just their pre shows, let alone a show like Mania.
Here's sort of the catch 22 in all of it though, it's going to be available to watch instantly on demand. So let's say something does go wrong, it's not like we won't have it to watch in the video library. So the contingency plan is likely that you still get to watch the show regardless, even if on delay.

I think it's a bit of a risk. I understand the appeal of Wrestlemania being the first PPV, but they really shoulda done with with Chamber as a test run.

I'm starting to worry that we are seeing the beginning of the decline of WWE.. Like, might not be around in 20 years type situation.

They should have planned a mass viewed event before mania, like a Saturday nights main event one time only thing that could have been the test of such a high volume of viewers. I wonder what would happen if it crashed?

I wonder what would happen if it crashed? It would be very bad news if the system crashed. It could be detrimental, and turn away a lot of customers. If if did happen, I'd expect WWE to offer the customers a free month or something. I know it'll be apples and oranges, but when ROH's iPPVs have disconnected, they've offered the next iPPV for free.

Yeah if a crash did happen I don't see them giving anything more than that. They can always use all the other content as a means in providing less of a refund or compensation for the crash. Though after the six month commitment, it would drop. Hang on to your DVDs everyone haha.

I wondered the same, stability issues will come obviously with any new streaming product like YouTube had.
I'm keeping to pay per view and buying it on box office.

I would imagine that's why they are starting it a month+ early to work out any of the kinks.

I'm sure they probably worked out a lot of kinks, but it is still worrying.

WWE wouldn't have kicked the Network off with WrestleMania if they weren't 100% confident that it would handle the traffic.
WWE is working with MLB Advanced Media on this, the best company on the planet for this kind of stuff. It'll be fine.

It is risky but I'm sure they have planned ahead and are putting the proper safeguards in place. The possible payoff is worth the risk. If the first Wrestlemania didn't work, WWE wouldn't be in business today. Vince put all his money into it. He's no stranger to risk, and this risk is very minor compared to that first Wrestlemania.

I understand why Wrestlemania XXX was chosen to the be the first Pay-Per-View and whatnot, but I can't help but think it would have been smart to launch with Elimination Chamber to flesh out the potential issues. Even though the audience for the Chamber wouldn't likely reach that of Wrestlemania's, it would likely have a huge number of people streaming, if for nothing else than to test it out, being the first event and all. I'd be a lot more apt to say "oh well" and watch Elimination Chamber on demand in the event of a crash than I would be if it happens during Wrestlemania.

The NXT Arrival PPV is actually going to be the first. It'll get a fraction of the viewers I'm sure, but they'll still have tested it out. Plus all the Raw pre and post shows they're apparently showing will surely help them iron everything out before the big show.

I think it's more likely to see a crash on 2/24 than with WM.

yea i think so , but then again , they are giving away 1 month free , so im sure that 1 month will be the best WWE network has to offer to get you to cave a and buy the regular subscription. lol..
i wouldnt be surprised if they moved RAW/SD to WWE network soon, although im not sure how they make money if not carried by a network not there own.
