I think the "complaining" was worth it. The reason why this is happening isn't because WWE saw all of this coming back at Summerslam... it's because their grand plan of bringing Batista back as a conquering hero fell flat on its face and they had no other choice. That said, the whole Yes Movement thing tonight was a lot of fun and I'm glad they did the right thing.

Wrong. Still can't believe this opinion exists. And yes, the WWE kind of had to change didn't they? Wrestlemania traditionally attracts the most hardcore wrestling fans, the people willing to shell out thousands of dollars to watch the product.. and the main event they wanted to set up (despite having a back story and history to it) just didn't appeal to the fans of this current time.. and that's fine. They had to make the decision to change the show or face ridicule. Thankfully, they've decided to change the show. Do I think it'll change anything regarding Batista winning the title? Probably not. But at least it makes sense for WWE on a corporate level.. it'll silence the fans that have been on their backs for weeks.. and will get the hardcore fans excited for Mania. Good move for all involved. Obviously, the fact that Daniel has 2 matches on the card shows two things - how rushed it all was from a creative sense - the lack of stars they have from the upper mid card and lower. Doing double duty at a Wrestlemania should never happen in the modern day, in my opinion. It is what it is though.. it makes sense and it was the only move WWE could make without upsetting any parties until the PPV. I skimmed that sorry. You have no idea what WWE had planned or not. Just cause you read a rumor of a line up on a dirt sheet doesn't make it fact. I'm not denying they had to rewrite things, but for all we know the outcome was always they same. Knock yourself out and believe what you want, and I'll do the same. I'll just do it without the superiority complex. K? Yeah, your arrogant tone certainly doesn't scream 'superiority complex'. Haha, believe what you want dude. Do fans want things too quick these days? Yes. But how that relates to this particular storyline I have no idea at all. The plan was babyface Batista to receive a heroes welcome, win the Rumble, pick up his millions and win the Title. They were thrown a curve ball and had to adjust. How that is beyond the realm of your understanding I have absolutely no idea.

At the end of the day, does it really matter when Vince and company arrived at the conclusion to run with Daniel Bryan? Why should we care if it was weeks before the Rumble, at the Rumble, at Elimination Chamber, or 20 minutes before tonight's show went on the air? The fact of the matter is that they did ultimately choose to run with Daniel Bryan, the ultimate payoff nearly all of us have been begging for since Summerslam. I'm not going to fault them for how they did it. Maybe this was the plan all along. Maybe it wasn't.
If it wasn't, then hey, look at it as a small victory. It's possible that the crowd single handedly forced WWE into this position. That's a pretty powerful thing.
If it was? Then hell, they just created the illusion of giving the crowd power, all the while crafting a intricate angle that had casual fans and die-hards alike eating out of the palm of their hands for better or for worse over the course of over six months.
I just don't see how we lose here now.
Could it have been cleaner than two matches for Bryan in one night? Sure. But it's not like it doesn't make sense. Bryan has been thrown in multiple matches, gauntlets, and the like for months now. He's had every odd stacked against him since Summerslam, and now he faces the ultimate odds one final time on the grandest stage of them all. It's different. It's actually quite intriguing.
Look, say whatever you want about the way Triple H and company have dragged Daniel Bryan through the mud since Summerslam, but realize that he's now the absolute biggest thing going into Wrestlemania this year. Bigger than John Cena, Randy Orton, Batista, Brock Lesnar, The Undertaker, and Triple H. Daniel Bryan is the story, and there's a very good chance that he's going to be the guy standing tall when the show goes off the air. I'll take a dozen Raws of Daniel Bryan beatdowns in exchange for that moment any day of the week.

I'm simply saying I don't pretend to know how WWE works or what they have or have not planned. If you want me to spell it out again, I'm sure I could use larger text and smaller words.

Now that's just funny. Turns out WWE knows exactly how to run a company after all! As a business, WWE knows how to run a company. Providing an entertaining product? No. Yes, WWE has done right by putting DB in the main event. Still not the way it should be.....but hey, they aint perfect. BUT....1 right doesnt make up for a crap load of wrongs.

I was fine with just the HHH vs Bryan match but this is the scenario I was hoping for.
I was excited for Mania before and I'm excited now.

I'd love to believe the 'overcome the odds at the grandest stage of them all' thing was planned, but given that Punk was supposed to fight Hunter... probably not. Regardless, I agree with your sentiment about Bryan. Once again, WWE find themselves with the biggest thing in pro wrestling being a guy who may not be their first, second or third choice for 'face of the company' (a la Punk in 2011). This time, I really do hope that they let Mania play out how it should, with a Bryan victory.

This time, I really do hope that they let Mania play out how it should, with a Bryan victory. But the point I was arriving at was simply, at this point, does it matter? For all we know, Punk's departure threw a huge wrench into everything and that's the reason we're seeing Bryan work two matches. Imagine Punk is still around and he's the one working with Triple H, that leaves Bryan in a bit of a limbo. But, we know the crowd would have reacted the same way to Batista's Rumble win. So, ultimately, we're in the same spot we are today, except Bryan probably just gets a clean insertion into the title match and Punk faces Triple H. In the end, if the plan was to run with Orton and Batista one on one, then we, as a body of fans, single-handedly forced their hand in a different direction. That's a pretty huge thing.

After Bryan beats HHH and gets inserted into the title match, I hope HHH announces he is also part of the title match.

I like this route much better then Bryan just winning the Rumble,
Every loose end is tied up for Bryan at Mania. HHH gets his comeuppance at the hands of Bryan and Bryan finally gets the title he's been screwed out of.
It's actually quite perfect.

This time last week.....THAT was the majority's POV. The few was Jack Cheddar and his belief that he would be added. Almost everyone jumped off that bandwagon. In addition, while it may just be a formality......DB isnt officially in that match. Beating HHH? HHH could just be trolling everyone.

That's cool bro. I appreciate it when you are being civil about things and not acting like everyone else is stupid, like in this post: forum.wrestlingfigs.com/post/6097408@j12, I agree. It doesn't matter, except for obviously a more sustained build between Batista and Bryan may have been nice. Regardless, one is hated enough and the other loved enough based on circumstance to be an immediate success without any real direct storyline involvement between the two. I'm incredibly interested to watch RAW in the next few weeks, and see the dynamic that they have with Bryan trying to build two main event matches at once. They will probably focus more on the Authority (HHH) storyline and just have Hunter team up with Orton and Tista to best Bryan, but obviously there needs to be tension between those two guys also. It's rushed, it's messy.. but that's not an altogether bad thing. It'll make for some interesting television at the very least.. and hopefully a fantastic Mania. That, on top of the fact that Lesnar/Taker should be good.. and Bray vs Cena, which I personally am incredibly stoked for.. could make a memorable Wrestlemania. Lord knows we deserve one at this point. After Bryan beats HHH and gets inserted into the title match, I hope HHH announces he is also part of the title match. How good would this be? Just imagine a backstage promo between a pissed off Vince, Steph and Hunter, pacing back and forth.. telling Vince he wants to go in the Title match and then being added. The final injustice.. Bryan earns the shot, HHH just takes it. They could be talking about how Bryan can't become their Champion, win the night at their biggest show, be the face of their company.. and Vince, angry as ever, could just say something as simple as 'Stop him' to Hunter.. and it would be an incredible build for the main event. The possibilities are endless. I love this roster. I just hope the real winners are the right people.

There were some on here who kept saying they were laying the groundwork. Be patient. And that it would all be worth it in the long run. But oh no, "WWE doesn't listen to their fans", "They don't care", and my personal favorite... "I'll never watch again!". Now that's just funny. Turns out WWE knows exactly how to run a company after all! Is the consensus that this was the plan all along? I just don't know if I'd believe that one, especially since it originally looked like punk vs hhh They sure made it look like they were forced into a corner by extremely vocal fans (mainly from the reaction he got in the cage when he turned on the Wyatt's). I didn't doubt he'd have a high profile match at mania, but 2 potentially with one being the title match - it's tough to think that was there since summerslam or even the rumble

The funny thing is people are acting like this was the plan all along. Remember Batista was brought in as a face and probably would have been given the world title while promoting his new movie had the fans not completely turned on the crap the wwe was feeding us.
How is it complaining when we the fans have been voicing what we want for months. Had the fans not completely turned on Orton/Batista that was going to be the main event. I doubt when Batista signed the wwe was thinking "Batista/Orton/Bryan" will main event the biggest show of the year.
