So with the WWE Network I've been watching old PPVs from before my time.
I finally watched this match in full the other day and it was pretty terrible. Maybe coming from a later generation and watching it out of context (not knowing the build) jaded my opinion of it but I've always been interested in gimmick matches but this one fell flat.
For those of you who were around when this originally went down, what did you think of it? Leading up to the event, were you excited for it? Thought it was corny?

Awful. Ungodly awful. This match was so bad, you could smell it. And if it couldn't get any worse, they put El Gigante in it. You'll notice that the "switch" doesn't stay up at times. I think they pointed this out on Botchamania. I don't know who wants to take credit for this clusterfark of a match, but they should be ashamed of themselves.

The original match up with Sting, Steiners and Gigante against One Man Gang (left), Windham (turned face), Diamond Studd and Oz. Jack, Vader and Abdullah were better choices though.
When I first heard about the match I thought it would be awesome. When I saw the picture in WCW Magazine of Abdullah all bloodied in the electric chair it made me upset. As a 7 year old, I thought he really died.

That whole Halloween Havoc PPV was horrible.
You have the Steiners in the Chamber of Horrors match, and yet you have Firebreaker Chip and Todd Champion challenging Arn and Larry for the Tag Titles. Steiners vs. Enforcers would have been a much better tag title match.
The only two good matches from that PPV seemed to be Steve Austin vs. Dustin Rhodes for the TV Title, and Ron Simmons vs. Lex Luger for the WCW Title.

Jim Herd baby....JIM ING HERD!! Bingo. The Chamber Of Horrors was horrific for sure.......just not in the way intended. El Gigante sucked SO badly.

Wasn't it Dusty Rhodes who came up with the idea? I swear I heard him talk about it on an episode of Legends of Wrestling

I've actually never seen this PPV. Over the years, I have seen bits and pieces of the main event match where Abby was getting zapped in the chair and thought it was pretty ridiculous.

When I was doing my wrestling customs until recently....I was going to do the electric chair in metal.
