Over the last 2 weeks I've been on a binge. Spending money catching up on pretty much everything hitting retail.
Got Elite Wrestlemania 30 from TRU
Shawn Michaels:
This is not only one of the best HBK's, but one of the best figures Mattel has produced (stomach hair or not) the headscan is absolutely incredible. The attire is awesome, the entrance gear is actually cool. Just 5 stars all around. Even though the "stomach hair" version looks much better, I'm still glad I got this.
Bret "Hit Man" Hart:
Am I the only one that remembers Bret's name being "Hitman" not "Hit Man"? Is there some copywright thing there? Why Mattel puts the latter on the packages? Anyway, another 5 star effort from Mattel here. THIS is the iconic Bret Hart attire I've wanted in Elite form. I had made a custom similar to this awhile back, and while that one still is unique and will remain on my shelves....this figure is perfect. The winged eagle is newer too, with a better shade of gold. The new head looks amazing, especially with the shades.
Then I got the WM30 Battle Packs off Amazon
Bork & Boo:
I love Basic "flashbacks" because they remind me of Classics. Lesnar is superb....although I wish for this (and the RSC exclusive) they could have worked on a new younger scan...however Brock hasn't changed all that much in appearance so that's not a major issue. 'Tista is cool, the only difference between this and the WM26 figure is that his tattoos are lighter here and his beard is darker (just really odd but whatever) I kind of wish they had gone a different route here, Batista had so many cool Wrestlemania attires, why do a re-release? Ah well, I guess for anyone that missed out on the '26 one it makes up for it...plus with all the new fans since then this is a great Batista to have
The Warriors:
I love this Ultimate Warrior. Plain and simply. The attire is great, the details are nice for a basic and the headscan works. Sheamus is what it is....nothing really special, I actually have no need for it because it's the same attire on the last like 4 Sheamus figures. Lets face it...90% of people buying this pack are buying for Ultimate Warrior
Last week I went into Target with the hopes of finding B37 or BP27 and over the course of 2 days managed to get all of BP27, and the B37 figures that I needed!
Tons of No More:
Shame they broke these guys up. Would have liked a matching Elite Tensai to go with the E25 Clay. Anyway, this is a cool pack, but I still can't get over Brodus Clay's tiny arms. Tensai is awesome though, they are 2/2 with 2 home runs as far as his Basic figures have gone.
RK NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!:
Randy Orton's new scan is good, like scary good. The mustache on this figure is painted weird....but overall the expression is scary realistic. I love Bryan's attire, and the matching hair color makes the scan look much better. Still wish they could have just morphed the B30 screaming scan with the long hair of this one.
Big Strongest Man Show:
Big Show's black legs just bother me. I know the "look" they were going for, but it just ends up looking silly. The singlet, however is awesome and the scan is fine. Mark Henry is in DESPERATE need of a new head (not even bald, but just some different expression) I never understood why some guys have got like 15 different scans and Henry's had 2. Anyway, the yellow & black really pops on a shelf. Good choice of attire.
Oh, got this BP26 off Amazon with my WM30 sets
Triple Axel:
No complaints. Nice updated wrestling gear H's. Axel's figure is fine.
Also off Amazon with my WM30 order I got the 2 Slam City CM Punk packs I needed.
punksicecreambars:
CM Punk as an ice cream man. The irony is just....well yeah. Honestly if I was a kid this would probably be a fun toy for a few weeks. The cart has all these little feautres like a "breakaway" top, and this ice cube thing you can put other SC figures inside of and "launch" from the side.
Battle of the Rubbernauts:
CM Punk vs. The Miz. Rubber all over. They stretch, they fly, they don't stand up. no really, Miz will literally not stand up by himself and you can't move the legs. Punk will but it's tough. These things are just silly. This line is going to do well for a few weeks. I have no use for Miz or the table though those are being sold (hopefully).
And finally, between 2 trips to Target and 1 cheap ebay purchase I got the 5 from B37 that I wanted
Bootista before he was Boo:
I love Basic flashbacks.....oh wait I'm repeating myself....
This is a perfect replacement for my old Jakks Series 31 figure. Same attire, scan looks great.
Believe in the Reigns:
I wasn't gonna get this. I figured down the line they will release another one of him along with better updated versions of Ambrose and Rollins (newer than the BP26 ones) but then again, it really is an awesome figure....the headscan is MUCH better in person and the new vest looks great.
Zeb F'n Colter:
The attire is spot on perfect. I applaud the headscan for effort, it doesnt quite capture his look but I can understand how tough it must be to make a mold with all that facial hair. Doesn't matter, the figure rules because Zeb.
Ryfront:
Got this on ebay for $8.99 shipped in the package (package was "damaged" which matters not to me because I open everything) This guy put it over the top with 'Mania 29 figures in the series....but the attire is just awesome
A Perfect finale:
I can see why MDT wasn't satisfied with this. He's too skinny, his hair is orange-yellow and the head is a little big. But it, it's a basic style Mr. Perfect. I'm happy.
Whew.
