So I'm currently on a big mid-1999 WCW kick (basically from July to October, before Russo took over... watching every Nitro/Thunder/PPV in order) and I realized that while I absolutely love watching Sid Vicious, he's just a terrible, terrible wrestler. Not very coordinated, cuts nonsensical promos, and his matches rarely had any rhythm, drama, or psychology. But god damn it, I thought Sid was an awesome character and there's something about his matches that leaves me unable to stop watching. I can't explain it.
Come to think of it... this also mostly describes Big Poppa Pump Scotty Steiner, who I also really enjoyed.
Anybody else have a sort of guilty pleasure type of favorite wrestler they'd care to share?

Ever since I got Big Boss Man and Goldust BCA figures for my birthday, I really liked them both. Granted, Goldust is the one I'm referring to here, I liked his interesting attire and style. I was 10 at the time, and only got into wrestling after he left for WCW. So I only knew him from Warzone game, and had no idea of his androgenous gimmick. Upon his return in 02, 05 and 08 I was glad to see him back and enjoyed his comical gimmick, especially with Booker.

Scott Steiner (referring to his 141 2/3 chance of winnin' type stuff) and Val Venis spring to mind instantly for me.

Ahmed Johnson. I had him pegged as a future World Champion in 1996...

I always loved Sid's promos. They were scary.
Iron Mike Sharpe. The self professed "Canada's Greatest athlete". I can't take my eyes off of him when he wrestles. The tall plain black hiked up briefs, the incessant manly grunting and the 4" high curly fro. He was an decent worker, but never had any artistic integrity. That was pretty much all he had to offer.
Honky Tonk Man Akeem Bushwhackers Sandman Duke "The Dumpster" Drose
are a few others

I guess I have to go with the Ultimate Warrior. His career was short. He couldn't wrestle for crap. And everything in his matches past the entrance was cringeworthy to watch. That being said, he was still ing awesome. He had the look of a god, had arguably the coolest entrance theme ever, and his promos were as epic as they were hilarious.

LOL mine was Kato from "The Orient Express". I didn't mind Tanaka but I loved Kato. I was always a big Paul Diamond fan, I think he could have been bigger as Paul Diamond than Kato. But yeah. I was the loudest person cheering for the masked man. Ironically, I didn't care for Max Moon. Go figure?!?

The Sandman, Ultimate Warrior and Scott Steiner all come to mind. Why? Because I don't give a if these 3 men ever even got to the ring, I bought their t-shirt when they got halfway through their entrance music. Kevin Nash too. Most of his good matches were behind him by 2000, but I loved the Wolfpac and NWO 2000. I was a Diesel fan the first time I saw him though, so my mind was made up when I was 9-10 years old. I'd argue Scott Steiner was as good a technical power wrestler as there ever has been though. I think the only time he was horrible in the ring was when he was hurt in WWE. He had great matches in WCW, especially the last year and a half of his time there giving Sting, Goldberg, Nash and DDP some of the best matches of their careers imo.

Diamond (as Kato) has the distinct pleasure of being involved in my all time favorite tag team match.
