THAT is how you do a segment!
I can't believe how great it was! Gunner's dad played his part perfectly and the whole thing had a very "real" feel to it.
THAT is how you get a heel some heat. Mock a wrestler, mock his dad and mock his dead father during a speech about how proud they are of their country. Handcuff the wrestler, choke his dad, smash a bottle over his head and leave Gunner cuffed to the ropes to look down at his unconscious father.
Perfection.
And Storm has the face of a heel, he just looks evil, especially with his new facial hair dyed dark.
Discuss.

I missed the first hour last night. I assume that was part of it. Does anyone have a video?
Here it is for anyone else that may have missed it...

I do have to play devil's advocate/Lance Storm here:
Why does TNA try and play itself off as a reality TV show? They pretend it's real and do all these angles that come across like reality tv but pretend it's still just great pro wrestling. Yes, WWE does this stuff to, but they also do work on setting a distinct barriers between their universe and reality. TNA comes across, to me, like they try and play it off like these guys are committing crimes and the only way to stop them is IN THE RING. No, within their universe the wrestlers almost have every right to call the police. One guy is an abusive boyfriend who hinted at committing suicide, and was stopped by Kennedy because "it's not high enough and I wanna beat you up first". How is this acceptable? TNA's show comes across like it's plots are planned by people who write scripted reality shows for Spike TV.

It was a great segment with a good set-up. That was the best acting and emotion I've heard out of Mike Tenay in a while....my only nitpick however is that they should have come back from the break with a solemn mood and showed the replay of what happened before going to the Gail Kim match.....they acted like nothing had happened until later on in the show when they re-capped it again. TNA is getting there with production but they're editing and pacing of the show still needs a little work.

It was a brilliant segment. I love how TNA has been booking Gunner. The guy is one of the hottest talents right now. But I like how they are giving him a slow simmer before just pushing him right to the title. He had a title shot and wasnt able to win due to Storm's turn. Perfect. Now he has the long brutal feud with Storm and his next logical step is to a big established heel. Would have loved to seen him vs. Bully, but now I think it has to be Roode. A small feud with Roode and that should put him in line for a title match. Then he can spend some time chasing the title or perhaps wins the BFG series.

Great segmant. It blurred the line between real and fake. It was almost hard to watch. The emotion both Gunner and his father showed, made it an almost choking moment. Hats off to TNA for making me sit there and say " Wow, Storm is ed up!" This pulled emotion from me.

Besides Triple H, I think Storm is the first REAL heel in a long, long time.

It was an awesome segment and I'm really digging James Storm's heelish look and his new theme song is awesome too. Just hope he actually wins matches and not lose left and right by Gunner, because you can't really take Storm serious if he's constantly losing.

Like with most things TNA, it was so bad it's good. I disagree there, TNA has done a lot of great, great things in the past. This was one of them.

Incredibly well done segment. Put a s**t ton of heat on Storm and actually made me feel sympathetic towards Gunner. Not to mention the latter's father selling the bottle shot like a boss.

Like with most things TNA, it was so bad it's good. How was it bad in anyway? It was incredible cheesy including "I went to war with (James Storm)" then thanking all the veterans in the crowd. Because as we know fighting James Storm is like fighting a real war. Gunner, "This is as real as it gets." Everyone mocks Triple H's "I love you pop" so we should do the same to Gunner's "I love you pop." "Why would James Storm interrupt this great moment between a father and a son." Really, Tenay? No idea why? They really need new announcers (That line along with Taz's line during TBP segment "I guess the gimmick was a shoot.") Why didn't Gunner attack or his dad try to attack Storm right away after he said Gunner's grandpa is glad to be dead? Then Gunner just stood there after his dad was attacked. He didn't try to break free or kick towards Storm. He was briefly angry at the end but it wasn't like he was trying to break free. Like with most things TNA, looks good on paper but not well executed.

Loved the segment.
Really reminded me of Beer Money and AMW, and how good of a heel Storm can be. I was against Storm being the heel since the Feast or Fired match(still makes no sense that Gunner came out of that the face), but now I'm glad he was the one turned.

I like the fresh turn for Storm, and I like that they're pushing Gunner, he just needs to improve on the mic and get the crowd behind him. I see potential so hope they don't screw this up. However I noticed how much Storm had improved around the time he won the WHC, nd thought - "man this guy could be TNA's next big thing". Of course that didn't happen, and I'm disappointed with how they've handled Storm since then. He deserves better. This heel turn is good, but needs to come off more as "I got screwed, you fans have turned on me and are cheering the guy who screwed me, therefore I'm turning on you". Then cue the dastardly deeds he's now doing. Instead, it seems contrived and makes Storm really out of character compared with how he has been in the last couple of years. It's like he's going back on all the behaviours and characteristics he had as a face, and is becoming like the guys he feuded with during that time (Roode), at the drop of a hat. It feels like a forced turn, not a natural one.
I'm hoping to be able to meet Storm in May at an event, so hopefully I'll be able to suggest some things and ask him some questions.

It made more sense for Storm to turn in my opinion, Gunner was an awful heel and James Storm getting bitter and jealous at Gunner beating him to the briefcase.
Storm glassing his dad just reminded me of how awesome he was as a heel in 2007-2008 prior to Beer Money's run.

Like with most things TNA, looks good on paper but not well executed. Damn you lol, I was gonna say this. Anyways, I just saw the segment. It was OK, but Gunner ruined the segment in the end. If I were handcuffed and I just saw my father get smashed over the head with a beer bottle, I would be livid. I would be angry. Gunner didn't show much anger except for a little bit in the end. If Gunner would have had raging anger trying to free himself and seeing his father hurt, I would have liked the segment. BTW, while I was on Twitter when this segment aired (I was watching NXT at the time), someone tweeted that he hoped that James Storm and his daughter burned inside a house, or something that mentioned someone burning. Some fans are f***ed up
