So I noticed something when watching old ECW shows from 1994. Once Shane Douglas won the NWA Title and then made it the ECW World Title, Paul E. stopped airing ECW Arena stuff on TV. He ran about 3 weeks worth after Shane won the belt, cause of the TV taping the next day at the ECW Arena, but after that he ran shows from Hamburg Pennsylvania at the Field House.
Now the Field House is where the WWE used to run shows at in the late 70s and early 80s for their TV. So do you think this was Paul's early attempt at making ECW seem bigger than what it was in the year 1994??
Paul only attempted this twice, and here are both results.
ECW @ Hamburg, PA - Fieldhouse - September 30, 1994 (420)
ECW TV Champion Jason Knight pinned Mikey Whipwreck
Don E. Allen & Dino Sendoff fought Stevie Richards & Chris Canyon to a no contest
JT Smith pinned the Sandman
2 Cold Scorpio pinned Hack Meyers
The Public Enemy defeated Don E. Allen & Dino Sendoff
The Tazmaniac pinned Stevie Richards
Chris Benoit pinned Ray Obyssey
Tommy Dreamer pinned Tony Stetson
Axl & Ian Rotten defeated Stevie Richards & Chris Canyon
Chris Benoit fought the Tazmaniac to a 10-minute draw
The Public Enemy defeated Tony Stetson & Rockin Rich
2 Cold Scorpio defeated Matt Borne via disqualification
The Pitbulls defeated Chris Canyon & Hack Meyers
The Public Enemy defeated Axl & Ian Rotten in a baseball bat match
911 pinned Mr. Hughes
Sabu pinned Cactus Jack; during the bout, Sabu cracked his ribs; Sabu broke a beer bottle over Cactus's head in the match after trying seven times
ECW @ Hamburg, PA - Fieldhouse - November 4, 1994 (355)
Included a segment in which Chad Austin insulted ECW, praised Smoky Mountain Wrestling - where he was leaving for - only for ECW World Champion Shane Douglas to attack him, beat him up, and force him to say on the mic that ECW was #1
The Pitbulls defeated Axl & Ian Rotten
JT Smith defeated Tony Stetson
Chris Benoit defeated Stevie Richards
The Public Enemy defeated the Pitbulls
2 Cold Scorpio & Ron Simmons defeated the Pitbulls
Jim Powers defeated Ray Odyssey
2 Cold Scorpio pinned ECW TV Champion Jason to win the title at 2:36 with the 450 splash, moments after fighting off an interfering Dean Malenko and the Pitbulls; prior to the bout, Dean Malenko escorted Jason to the ring, with Tod Gordon appearing and telling Malenko he had to leave ringside or he would strip Jason of the title; as Malenko went backstage, the Pitbulls came out instead, with Gordon taking the mic and telling Jason he would have to defend the belt by himself or he would take the championship from him; moments later, Jason then told the Pitbulls to go backstage; Jason then joked that his opponent might be Don E. Allen or Dino Sendoff, with Gordon announcing it would be Scorpio; after the match, Malenko attacked Scorpio, dropped him with a neckbreaker, and applied an armbar before Ron Simmons made the save
Ron Simmons defeated Dino Sendoff
The Public Enemy fought 911 & Hack Meyers to a no contest
Dean Malenko (w/ Jason) pinned ECW TV Champion 2 Cold Scorpio to win the title at around the 15-minute mark with a neckbreaker after avoiding a moonsault off the top
ECW World Champion Shane Douglas pinned Jim Powers
Tommy Dreamer defeated Don Harris
The Tazmaniac, Sabu, & 911 defeated ECW TV Champion Dean Malenko & the Pitbulls
Mr. Hughes defeated Chris Canyon
Cactus Jack & Mikey Whipwreck defeated ECW TV Champion Dean Malenko & Jason
Ron Simmons, 2 Cold Scorpio, & Chris Benoit defeated ECW World Champion Shane Douglas, Mr. Hughes, & Hack Meyers when Myers was pinned after Douglas and Hughes turned on Meyers and Benoit walked out on his team
Cactus Jack pinned Sabu in a falls count anywhere match with the elbow drop from the apron to the floor
