www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-edinburgh-east-fife-26834110"A 12-year-old girl has died after a wall at an Edinburgh school collapsed and landed on top of her. The Scottish Ambulance Service sent a special operation response team to Liberton High School after the alarm was raised shortly before 10:00. Police Scotland said the pupil received treatment from ambulance staff, but was pronounced dead at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed. The incident is thought to have happened in a PE changing room. One pupil at the school, 13-year-old Devon Blyth, told the BBC she had warned a teacher some months ago that there was an unstable wall in the girl's changing room near the old gym." Pretty tragic stuff here. I take it the school are going to be in some trouble for not attending to a hazard that students pointed out in advance.

I read about this, so awful, the poor family, when kids go off to school you certainly don't expect this kind of thing! Absolutely heart wrenching

Such a tragedy. This is so sad.
RIP.
My secondary school had a stabbing and one of the teachers got stabbed, she thankfully lived. That was back when I was mid way through school in year 10/grade 10.

That's my school. The place had such a numb feeling to it. All the teachers were on hand to help. School has been closed until further notice.
Didn't know the girl but still shocking that it happened when I was at school. I feel shaky typing this. The school staff are definitely not to blame, the report about the pupil telling the teacher must be rubbish, because the teachers are dead set on keeping everyone safe. The hall has been in trouble before, but the school can't do anything about it, it's the council. As long as they say it's safe, the school will continue to use it. Shame it took a death to more than likely open their eyes to how bad it really is.
