I say good luck to WWE thinking it can lock out other promotions. It won't happen. They've done it before with PPV providers and arenas. I'm not saying it's right, but they have succeeded in the past doing these kind of things. And ta think, I was going to make a "WWE Monopolise!" remark pointing out your (thanks!) many spelling errors. ? I'm not sure if you're under the impression that "monopolise" is a real word. You can PM me if you want, I don't want to derail the thread. You let that can of worms out pretty early in the thread already! lol... monopolise is to you're as monopolize is to your If I was privy to some sort of Colt Cabana video pointing out common spelling errors I'd share it, but I'm not....privy to such things.

Ah, you actually do think it's a spelling mistake. A touch of education: UK English generally uses -ise where US writers use -ize. www.collinsdictionary.com/dictionary/english/monopolise dictionary.reference.com/browse/monopolise etc. Though none of this has anything to do with WWE putting a city on a lockdown.

Ahh, well you were referring to an American company that only monopolized America, so the -ized version would be appropriate in that instance.

I wish I was heading to Mania this weekend because I want to see those Evolve shows. Trent vs Hero should be amazing tonight and Low Ki vs Gargano vs Trent should be ridiculous as well. I think WWE is working with Gabe right? Or at least letting him be the only Indy in town? I thought I read they were letting them do their thing. WrestleCon has an amazing lineup as well this year. Edge, Goldberg, The Steiners, the Outsiders, DDP, Piper, Sting, Bret, Angle, Sid, RVD, 3D, Bad Influence, Hero, Cabana, Steen, Jake, I mean that lineup is good enough imo that you go trek to wherever the hell they want to setup shop.
What WWE does, really only makes it inconvenient for the fans who are going to do that kind of thing anyway imo. It's not a big deal though. I went to AXXESS twice, ROH in Ft. Lauderdale and Mania 28. Everything was in like a 40-45min distance of each other. I guess that's probably a bigger pain for out of town people, but if you're into stuff like DGUSA and ROH, you're not going to be deterred from going to those shows when you've planned on making that part of your weekend experience. WWE is just trying to not let other promotions deter fans from going to WWE events, which I completely understand because they want to make every dollar possible.

That's not how language works -- you don't switch the language you're writing in when writing about a foreign story. I don't use monopolize for a US company, monopoliser for a French company, monopolizar for a Spanish company, monopolisieren for a German company etc.

The only thing is, WWE has to make sure they're putting on competitive events to deter fans from taking a trip an hour out of town. I've got a suspicion that Neville might still be a mainstay in NXT by this time next year and that they're gonna keep a few guys on the NXT level so that as well as developmental, NXT also moves more to being WWE's own mini-promotion competing with ROH, Dragon Gate etc.

I think we are going to see WWE expose that NXT brand as their third brand in the way that they used to treat ECW. And I say why not? They signed guys like Neville, Zayn, Graves, Del Sol, and Crowe, and those are guys that appeal to that exact same demographic. So I think you're spot on and WWE moving to live NXT shows in the same time slots seems like the next evolutionary step. I think the only hiccup there is AXXESS and the HOF because NXT guys usually compete during AXXESS and the Indy promotions usually run a big show that Saturday night. Maybe WWE just promotes NXT harder through those AXXESS sessions and that is how they go about keeping some of those fans. Like, come to AXXESS session 3 on 4/5 and see NXT Champion Neville take on Bo Dallas, or something like that. Seems like an easy way to promote it since they're already promoting the session in general.

Which would be weird, yeah... I can't see them running an NXT show against the Hall of Fame -- although there must be thousands upon thousands of fans in town on the Saturday night who can't get tickets to the HoF. The thing is, you're right, they can promote Axxess matches pretty hard. Especially if they're aired on the network.

If people are willing to travel an hour anyway, why dont wwe keep its enemies closer as it were and that 2hours wasted on travel can be spent on wwe related activities.
