Ok, I have a question , and I think alot of the WFIGS members would love to know the answer.
Has the Mattel Design Team ever looked at customs or fix-ups here for future figure development?
Alot of customizers and avid fixer uppers have come up with some awesome body/arm/leg/boot/hand swaps that have givin said figure the Mattel produced look.
Has any of the work here given your design team the ability to make a figure more accurate with different parts that are already in existance? Prime example would be the use of Texas Tornado body for a Hulk Hogan figure. Which I feel could be a simple base for an actualy finalized Hogan Figure.

Just be sure to mention about the sloppy paint apps.

Good question with a bad example. Hogan was never that ripped ever. True. Sheiks body would be much better.

Why is it called mattel quality- mattel is so inconsistent. Does that mean the fig is amazing like e27 or horrible like e28 They're the kings of mass market. Neca may have them on a lot of technical details, but Neca is barely mass market. Small batches, small character selections, and two retailers that support them (TRU and comic shops), doesn't put them in the same league as Mattel whom you can buy anywhere. Every toy line at this price level has it's ups and downs. What Mattel has that puts it at such a distinct level is the overwhelming number of parts available. There's more boot molds, torsos, hands, arms etc. etc. than I could count up in ten minutes. It's nuts. And they all look comgrous to each other. Quality may have dips here and there but is more even than any other line I've ever collected.

They obviously have their own idea of how things should be done. They feel that warrior had a 20 inch waist with wafer thin arms, and that he was the same size as Animal. More power to them.

I personally would be insulted by a custom if I was MDT. I mean, think about it. How would you like it if you spent several weeks on a painting and finally finish it just have someone else come along and add more paint to it and call it better?
So, I guess I can't speak for MDT, but I'd assume they don't care for customs that much. They had a vision on how the figure is supposed to look, whether it be for the better or for the worse, doesn't matter.

Good question with a bad example. Hogan was never that ripped ever. I've heard a lot of people say this - but Macho Man and guys like Rick Martel were never that ripped either - and look at their figures.

Like all the Hogan figures that Mattel hasn't made. Looking at them for body choices and boots that are already molded, that they could use. I don't know if having exsisting parts helps on figure costs, to were they could add a new accessory since body oarts won't need to be sculpted for a certain figure.
