I loved this tag team as a kid! I just referenced him in a favorite wrestler thread on Mattel board kind of tongue in cheek. Did I inspire you? Lol

This is the very first time I've actually seen this Firebreaker Chip in action. The match was actually too short for me to give a solid opinion on the guy. From what the ring announcer said, he said one-half of The Patriots and that is puzzling to me. To me, if he's one-half, then the team itself should be called The Firebreakers, no??
I don't understand why they would be called The Patriots and have one guy named Firebreaker Chip and the other, I'm assuming, Todd Champion as mentioned above.
From what I did from the clip, Chip is in great shape and not the worst wrestler I've seen. He did have the crowd going for him, so it wasn't the dud like a Saba Simba match or Battle Kat match.
I can't really give much more of an opinion than that.

I remember him & Todd Champion. They were half decent. This video just reminded me how much I loved Stunning Steve as opposed to Stone Cold.

The only obscure gimmick posted so far that I never heard of.

Both WCW and WWF had some silly gimmicks but it seems like the WWF wrestlers stuck around longer, and were usually repackaged and some eventually made it.
With WCW guys, I guess they figured not only did the get a horrible gimmick but the company would never figure out how to get them over anyway.
We saw guys like Shockmaster, Charlie Norris, Big Sky, Yoshi Kwan, Patriots, Cole Twins, Thunder and Lightning in the early 90s and they didn't last long.
WWF saw Sparky Plugg, Justin Hawk Bradshaw, Rockabilly, Real Double J, Sultan and Faarooq Asad as a few guys who were given silly gimmicks but with sticking with WWF for a while they were bound to get over.

I thought The Patriots were cool when I was a kid, but really they were a midcard act that came 10 years too early. Can you imagine how popular a tag team with a soldier and a firefighter wouldve been in 2001 instead of 1991?
