I ended up going to wrestlemania for the second consecutive year and my third overall wrestlemania. I can not stress enough how much I love wrestlemania weekend. The city was in full wrestlemania mode, with visitors from all over the globe. We ended up leaving Toronto at 7am and got to New Orleans later that day. As soon as we landed the airport was covered in giant mania banners. It was awesome. Our first stop of the day was to Axxess. We were able to meet Aj, Tamina, X pac, The Godfather, Brodus Clay, Tyson Kidd and Zack Ryder. The Wyatts were also signing but it was near impossible to get them due to their massive lineup. On the way out of axxess I heard a familiar voice, and spotted Bob Backlund taking pictures with the fans and signing autographs. It was great. We chatted with him, and told him how much I enjoyed his hall of fame speech, which he seemed to genuinely appreciate. I also was unable to pack an item for each superstar, so I ended up buying a Wrestlemania 30 poster from the superstore, and got a bunch of signatures on it. I figured it was celebrating 30 years of mania, so it made sense. We then ended up going to Bourbon Street for a few hours and had a great time. We bumped into Bushwacker Luke who took a picture with us. Up next, we went to Wrestlecon on Saturday morning. This year Wrestlecon was in a much smaller venue compared to last year. With the exception of the vendor that brought in the hart foundation, and scott hall, the rest of the convention was a bit confusing and somewhat unorganized. It took almost 90 minutes just to get through the door, then in the line for terry funk and sid, there were people arguing and shouting at each other. Mostly due to the lack of structure in the lineups. At the Wrestlecon session, we met Scott hall who was awesome. Told me some stories about some of the items I bought. When I asked him who was inducting him into the hof, he laughed and said " are you available?". Then we met Bobby heenan, who joked that I shouldn't have gotten married, lol. He and his wife were very friendly. I then met Sunny, who was awesome. She still looks great by the way! It was then time to meet Goldberg! Goldberg signed a few items for me including my mania poster. It was funny, when I gave it to him, he signed right over triple h's face, and said some words I cant say on the forums, lol. He also offered to resign my replica belt which he signed last year, as it had badly faded. Next up we met the Rated R superstar! Edge was great and signed a few items for us. Others that we met that day included Terry Funk who signed my NWA belt, Sid who signed a few items, and Kevin Nash, who signed a shredder figure from me. I know its not a super shredder figure, but close enough . He also told me that he hasn't signed too many of those, which was cool. We then met the Dudleys, and Kaitlyn, who were both really cool. My final autograph of the day was Georgeous George who was awesome as well. We then enjoyed some New Orleans fried chicken and watched Mickie James in concert. After that it was time for the hall of fame. The main reason we went to New Orleans, was to see the Warriors induction, and lesnar vs taker. I was shocked and saddened to learn that Warrior had passed away 48 hours later. I met warrior last year and he was a class act. Overall, the speeched were good. I think Mr.t was hilarious, and hall, jake, and warrior also gave good speeches that night. We then went to sleep as we had a long day ahead of us. We attended Axxess and were able to meet Kane! We then jumped in line to meet Steamboat, Harley Race, and Danny Davis. Steamboat was one of my all time favorites, so I was happy to meet him, but unfortunaltey just as we approached the front of the line, they switched over to Briso and Paul Orndorf. It sucked! but, luckily Steamboat saw my magazine in my hand, and came and autographed it over the rail for me, which was great! Next up, we met Jimmy Hart and Pat Patterson. I got Patterson to sign my Mania 1 program which you will see in the pics. We had to leave axxess early in order to meet Sting at Wrestlecon. We met Sting who was great, and we got some really cool items signed! Sting was awesome and told the crowd that his new favorite number is "31". We then had a break and prepared for Mania. The show itself was awesome. Daniel Bryan winning the belt blew the roof off the place, as did the opening segment with Hogan, Rock, and Austin. When Lesnar ended the Streak, the air got sucked out of the arena. It was unreal. Nobody expected it, and I saw a guy in front of me actually crying. It was a mania moment that I'll never forget, and im glad I was there to witness it. Also have to mention that Wyatt's and HHH's entrance were pretty sweet. We ended up leaving to come home the next day. I bumped into Roddy Piper at airport security and he offered to take a quick picture with me. We also saw Ric Flair at the bar, but he was refusing to sign or take pics for anyone. I have attached pics below. Overall, an incredible weekend. I highly recommend that everyone goes to Wrestlemania at least once for the experience. For me the highlights of the trip were, seeing warrior go into the HOF, the streak ending, and meeting Scott Hall. Would like to hear your feedback and comments. Thanks guys, hope you enjoy!
