The Purpose of Evolution vs The Shield

It really makes me wonder what Cena, Orton, Batista, Wyatt are going to do.

Punk is a good worker but I don't think Punk is one of those guys who pull great matches out of people. If you name some of punks top matches it's usually against someone who is also a good worker. Punks matches with Ryback really show that

It's not that the match with Punk just wasn't good, it was the drizzling craps. Punk can generally at least pull a kinda good match out of people. His matches with The Ryback weren't nearly that bad.

I can't wait to watch Reigns shove it down every hater's throat, if true.

People can't stand a success. The dude's been part of one of the most popular, and now historic teams, in pro wrestling history...

He's consistently improved, and because they talk about him being the next "face" -- people are hating already.

GTFO with that noise. Seriously. Oh yeah -- and that spear on Ryback last Monday, was a think of effing BEAUTY.

I don't think any one of them has out shined the other. Up until recently, Rollins was probably the 3rd string in the group...now he's potentially the next "Jeff Hardy" type of face/champion, one day...

Ambrose, I HATED for the longest time. I thought he was mediocre at best. The past couple months, he's grown on me. I haven't seen anything to make me think he's a future top heel -- but there is potential there.

Reigns on the other hand, is the total package. Physically, he's got the look that works for both adult males, women, and kids. He has the presence. The general athleticism. He has the spear, superman punch and the apron kick -- he just needs to build on those. And as far as his mic work, we've not really had a chance to ever hear him. He could be a beast on the mic (his twitter comments are gold a lot of the time) -- he's been playing the silent monster type for what? 2 years now?

I think at WORST -- he's a "wait, and see" superstar...at best, WWE is right, and he's the replacement for Cena in the next few years. And I'm more than alright with that.

I've said it before, I'll say it again...Sheamus/Cena/Show/Orton are stepping back a bit...we have Wyatt, Rollins, Reigns, Ambrose, Big E, Ziggler, Bryan, Cesaro...Paige, Emma, AJ.

So much talent. So much damn talent coming up. It's a good time to be a WWE fan with the new era starting. And if Reigns ends up being the face of this era -- cool. If not, there are more than a few options.

I think Managers need to play a more prominent role, too. For guys like Rollins, who can perform, but may have proven they're not really the best on the mic -- give em a mouth piece. Brad Maddox can be damn entertaining on the mic. Why is he stil GMing RAW? Alex Riley? If Alex Riley came out one day with the Million $ Title, and named a superstar, saying he had the backing of Dibiase to find a new star to carry on the legacy/starting a management team, etc...boom. Right there, you got potential gold. That's just a single idea.

If the film thing never worked out for me, it was a serious, SERIOUS consideration for me as a career. Paul Heyman, and Bearer has proven that literally ANYONE can be a manager, if you can speak well, and are at least half-intelligent. Charisma helps, obviously, but with a star like Rollins, or Ziggler...how much does the manager really need?

How else would have brought in Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose on the main roster? Let's not forget that both Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns were in developmental for over two years while Dean Ambrose was in the same system for a year and a half. The WWE did the right move by bringing them in as a trio and making them look really strong right out of the gate. Had Ambrose and Rollins came in as a solo act, I doubt they would have been given the exposure they have been given as opposed to a trio with Reigns.

The WWE has struck absolute gold with The Shield. They have kept them strong since coming on to the scene. The fact that the three of them aren't in their 30's helps them more with longevity. I should mention that one of the catalysts for CM Punk's sloppy ring work is because he has been battling with nagging injuries since the end of 2012. When you are injured, you can't perform at your highest potential. Case in point, look at Mr. Perfect vs. Bret Hart from SummerSlam 1991. The match could have been better if Mr. Perfect had been not injured.

I'm not saying The Shield was a bad idea, it was a great idea. I'm just saying, Ambrose and Rollins would have been fine without it. Reigns needs The Shield.

Punks injuries would be a good excuse if he hadn't been having good matches with injuries for months. Can anyone name just one above average match that Reigns has had? I can name dozens for Ambrose and Rollins.

Reigns needs The Shield to hide his weaknesses. Ambrose cuts the promos, Rollins and Ambrose carry the six man then tag in Reigns to hit a cool looking move. Any time Reigns has had a singles match or a few lines in a promo it was as entertaining as wet fart.
