Anyone that stuck with Gotham, is it worth giving another chance?

the brief joker scene in the gotham tv series was great and creepy. still disliking the new batman costume and ben affleck. digging the armored batman though.

Dc/WBs media division stripped out all the good Suicide Squad characters from Arrow and Deathstroke too.....they have all had the dreaded veto applied.
No way does Joker show in Gotham.....the powers that be wont allow certain characters on a network that they own. No way Fox gets their 1# villain in any way.
DCs internal structure continues to baffle.

Much like the other characters.

I'm surprised nobody is talking about it..... But the rumours are swirling at several reliable online sources that WB has told Synder to reduce supes and increase bats during editing on Batman vs Superman.......
Apparently it's because Affleck is so damn impressive as Bats and there is a lack of confidence in Cavill after uncle bombed.....
Coupled with the rumours that the man of steel sequel is officially on hold? This just reinforces what lots of us thought from the beginning.......WB are still hung up on Bats and in safe mode concerning anything not featuring him......
Thoughts?

I think that rumor is from el mayimbe. He's full of hot air most of the time. I'm all for Ben Affleck as Batman and was one of his biggest supporters when he was cast. But if this is the case, I don't feel they should sacrifice Supes for Bats. Henry Cavill made me a Superman fan. And I think it's a shame that Man of Steel has divided us as fans. Half of us loved it. The other half hated it. And WB shelving the MoS sequel is a shame. But at the same time I can see WB pov on the matter. They NEED these movies to work and of course they're relying on their only bankable comic book property to push this DCCU over the top. I get it. I just don't agree with it. Oh and UNCLE bombed because Guy Richie doesn't know what to do with tentpole action properties. And none of that is Cavill's fault. I know I'm in the minority here, but the Sherlock Holmes movies sucked. But corporate big wigs see things a helluva lot differently than us common folk.

Most places are reporting on it now.....I hope it isn't true. I loved Man Of Steel.....still do. WB really do need to stop leaning on Batman so heavily.....but I have a feeling they wont. UNCLE bombed because Straight Outta Compton had serious buzz and blew the box office away that weekend. Surely not Cavills fault-I 100% agree with you but as you say these bigwigs see things differently. I liked the Sherlock Holmes movies and I really liked Man from UNCLE too......I feel sorry for Cavill and Hammer.

Unfortunately, I've heard the same rumor. And I don't like it. I'd love for a good Superman franchise. And I think Cavill certainly fits the role to a tee. Truth be told though, I wasn't crazy about Snyder's MOS. But I remained optimistic that things would turn around after BvS. On the same note, I'm loving everything we've seen so far from Affleck's Batman so far. But if the movie is similar to MOS, I fear that excitement may be short lived. IMO I think DC will always play second fiddle until they learn to use all their resources. They have great characters that all deserve a chance to shine. If they keep rebooting Batman every few years, they are going to drain the Batman well dry and then they'll have nothing left.

Such a shame if that is true. I know Bats is looking great in the movie but WB seriously needs to stop depending on him, a lot of people I know are just tired of always Batman, he may be the most popular superhero (but I think Spidey ties it) but you can't expect that everyone will love him no matter what, nothing last forever. I just don't like the direction the MCU is going but look at how many characters they introduced and made famous, characters that even some comic book readers didn't give a single crap. I know WB must still feel insecure despite their awesome trailers and amazing teams but depending too much on the bat will bite them in the ass one of these days.

Marvel Studios & Paramount had to take risks to get where MS is today....and substantial risks at that....they pushed the development of other characters besides their box office boy in Iron Man....and it paid off in spades.
But DC/WB seem unwilling to do this.....even a little bit. We must think back to all references of the larger DCU being left out of MOS because WB were unwilling to commit to the DCCU until they seen Supes box office receipts. As we know? it was viewed as a disappointment and they were a long while pulling the trigger going ahead.....until Batman was inserted in the 2nd DCCU movie.....
Then things started to roll.....but even then their other proven draw in the Joker was included in Suicide Squad then Batman too......now before anybody leaps down my neck over this I'm not saying this is a bad thing......but they definitely do seem unwilling to proceed without him and it begs the question of how high their confidence or commitment is to WW or Aquaman?
If Paramount had taken this approach? We wouldn't have had the Avengers. Cap & Thor were filming before they seen how IM2 had done and remember TIH hadn't done that well(Kung Fu Panda killed it off at the BO).....Avengers was greenlite and filming before they had any clue how cap and Thor had performed at the box office and both were viewed as "tricky sells" by the analysts at Paramount.
its just food for thought concerning WB/DCs attitude towards their movies and the crippling high expectations they have for them at the box office. I mean.....how well with Bats vs Supes have to do to be considered a win? Im guessing at least a billion $$ movie worldwide like both Avengers movies and IM3......at least.

It's so comical how this all unfolded. We started with what was basically a Man of Steel sequel. Then WB dropped the bombshell that Batman was going to show up ina cameo. Now Superman might be getting pushed even more to the background. Pretty soon this will be retitled Batman Dawn of Justice or maybe Just Batman and friends.

Snyder has released an interview stating that the rumours are indeed true about Supes role being reduced. he says its due to Batman being introduced in this movie and they need to focus more on him to differentiate him from Nolans version.
So there ya go.....they have publicly admitted it. I'm still very excited for this movie and cant wait to see it!!

Sucks to hear that, in the trailer there are even scenes of Bruce's origin. Eveyone and their grandmother know Batman's origin, why again? There is no need to watch the Waynes get shot dead for the millionth time. Just show this old bitter Bruce, all the questions like how he trained, how he operated before retiring, where is Gordon, Grayson, etc, just leave it ambiguous and save it for the Batman solo film. I don't know, this whole batmanmania just rubs me the wrong way but I must say that Affleck looks absolutely amazing as Bats/Wayne and I trust he will bring his A game.

From the time it was announced, it was never a Batman "cameo" I'm not sure where you're getting that from... Harry Lennix reading that quote from 'The Dark Knight Returns' at Comic-Con a few years ago CONFIRMED Batman V Superman, which was ALWAYS bound to be more than a cameo. Batman is a bigger draw, Nolan's trilogy was MASSIVE, it makes sense from a business standpoint that WB would want to continue to capitalize on that popularity. I have faith that this movie will still strike a balance, all fanboy overreacting aside.

I was just stating how funny it is that Superman is getting pushed aside because Batman is once again the show stealer..... I don't have any sources direct quotes or anything, just my memory from alk the news I read and followed of a Man of Steel sequel being announced at first. If I'm wrong sboutvthatbok whatever, I was mainly just talking about Superman living in Batman's shadow....

No, no... that wasn't directed at you, my bad dude... just a general one based on comment sections on social media and stuff like that of people LOSING their minds over this. It's unfortunate, but he's going to keep living in Batman's shadow, especially if Affleck is as good as people are saying he is.
