I was watching some old Ryback footage and forgot how completely over he was and how it was pretty much split 50/50 on whether or not he should have gotten the win over Punk for the title, followed by him taking out Cena on Raw after Wrestlemania. Ryback to me is one of those guys suffering the most from being told what to do on a script and not being able to just be himself. I've watched some of his youtube videos and even was a sarcastic funny douche on commentary last monday. I think Ryback could have been maybe something big. I know some will say no way, or he was just another flash in the pan, but I felt like he got over then got beat and lost all credibility and creative just sentenced him to a life-sentence in midcard pergitory.
So what do you guys think of "The Big Guy"?

His is one of the greatest falls from grace, right there with Ryder and to a lesser extent, Sandow.

I know people will comment on how he "can't wrestle" but guys like Cena, Hogan, Austin, etc were't your technical masters by any means but they were brawlers and could tell a story in the ring and really work a crowd. Just like the Yes chants it was just a couple years ago little kids had their Ryback shirts on and arenas were chanting FEED ME MORE

They dropped the ball a long time ago. I still remember the massive pop he got when he made the save during the Punk/McMahon match.

He was so over, that it wasn't even funny. This guy shouldn't of gotten the sh*t he has.
I'm still holding out hope.

No.. I was never a fan of him. And not because he's sloppy in the ring, hurting multiple people, multiple times.. But because he's booked as some muscle monster that can destroy everything in his path..
I can't buy into that when the guy is only 5'10".
EDIT: For people that might google him, and see the "billed height" is 6'3".. Let me remind you that 6'3" is Brock Lesnar.
He's not even close to his billed height.

God I hope so. I loved him when he re debuted, and was upset when he fell so low. I still thing the Big Guy is awesome, and cheer for him in all his matches. Hopefully one day Ryback rules again.

But Austin was a great technician before his neck injury.

i was watching raw today and thought of this during his tag match. the guy is done, i feel really sorry for him. i genuinely disliked him for how quickly they shoved him down our throats, but over time he did really develop some decent mic skills and i don't really think he's half as bad in the ring as he was before. i feel he simply got too much too fast and it really damaged him.
sadly i could see him doing his original feed me more stint within a few years in the indies. but who knows, his career could turn around. i think someone like him, who legit loves wrestling, would really enjoy japan.

I can't even see him lasting long enough in the WWE to get another main event spot. Which sucks, because I've liked the guy since his feud with Punk

He would have to do a 180 in my opinion for him to do a comeback. He'll essentially need to reinvent himself. He has a pretty good entrance music, get rid of the singlet that looks WCW circa 1996, be more personable rather than just all muscle. Get away from the Goldberg similarities and be more unique. Until that happens, I see him floating in the mid-cards for a long while.

They had something HUGE with him as a face. Everyone loved him after Mania 29, then he lost to Cena and that was it. He's loved as a face and hated as a heel. He can do both well so why waste him?

He's doing ok with Axel at the moment, i think he could be fairly big again but not near the level he was at. I think if he had a massive face turn, maybes saving Daniel Bryan from a beat down or something like that the crowd would be right on his side again

Its a huge fall that he's taken. I didn't want him to beat Punk. I'm a Punk guy but he was huge. And i never got the hate for him. He got buried by Shield and never got a blowoff to that. Then the meaningless loss at Mania (which being there live I can tell you the crowd was pro Henry) hurt a lot. He should have destroyed Henry and then the next nights raw should have gone the same way it did. But Ryback should have taken the title for at least a month from Cena. But the final nail in the coffin was putting him with Heyman. He was fine by himself. I like Rybaxel but but guys were booked to be jokes against Punk and now they are destined to stay in a crapty Tag position with Axel.

WWE are more likely to sign or push another; and probably more generic big man and just let Ryback rot. I like his theme song though...
