I just think if wwe wanted to do this they could. People will say networks wont go for it but then I remember that wwf gave cable companys the ultimatum. Either you run what we want or you get nothing. Money talks. Im sure a network would allow wwe to run 1 hr of "non wwe" wrestling in order to retain Raw. Yes, money talks. And right now, WWE is negotiating for a big money deal for their TV shows. They would not jeopardise that by making weird demands that the winning bidder has to agree to broadcasting an hour a week where the ring apron says AWA on it. WWE would gain literally nothing from that demand, and potential networks would be turned off the company because it was clearly being run by lunatics.

We cant say for certain that wwe would gain nothing from this. I'll agree it's a gamble for sure. And I'll agree that WWE prob doesnt want to take that kind of risk, especially while trying to negotiate better terms for there flagship shows. But a new brand would def breath new life into wrestling. And it may even be successful if done right. You have to remember, no company starts out on top. Every company has to start somewhere and for most new companys that's on the bottom.

The poster above me is on to a few things..... I'd like to make a few points: 1. They are kind of doing NXT almost as a "separate" promotion - at least, more than they normally have done in the past.... I agree, they should try to make NXT as separate as possible - much like a "rival promotion." I give them credit for doing NXT much better than they did ECW..... or WCW. Baby steps, WWE..... keep going.... 2. I think they should have periodic "Revivals" of older brands - much like ECW One Night Stand.... I think the PPV's could benefit from some of the older brands (Halloween Havoc, Great American Bash, etc)... treat them kind of like "Legends Reunions", bring back some of the old stars of these promotions (Ric Flair, Sting, etc)... and still feature the newer guys in matches..... I think that's the best way to get new life out of the old brands. 3. Maybe this summer when they start showing Nitro & "The Monday Night Wars" on the WWE Network - enough chatter will generate to get a WCW revival going? I doubt it, though.... but I know I'd be tuning in.... I have really wanted them to revive WCW for a long time, the story lines would write themselves. Start the War back up and have WCW try and get revenge for being killed off, have guys slowly "defect" reminiscent of the old days.....

Well... They did with ECW and it sucked. They also tried to make WCW it's own brand and tv show immediately after purchasing in 2001 but networks didn't want to have anything to do with it and I doubt they would 13 years later either. Watch your mouth. Compared to actual ECW it was crap, but during it's twilight, WWECW was the best wrestling show on TV. I looked forward to it every week as well. I thought it was a good show.

They already have a show that exists in its own universe. It's NXT, and it's awesome.

How about instead of having RAW for the first hour of the programming, we have a massive 1 hour long pre-show that recaps what happened last week on RAW and Smackdown and incessantly tells the viewers to weigh in on social media with their thoughts.

I would love that too, but the overall brand of WWE had to be seen as superior to all others...even something WITHIN the WWE. I also believe this is a reason why the 'Alliance' was so awful, purely because Vince couldn't have WCW and ECW VS WWE, it HAD to be WWE VS The Alliance, so the only brand name you see is WWE...very clever by Vince but also - what's the harm on actually mentioning (inactive) competitors since you now own them? Yes indeed. Vince & Stephanie's ego was so dominant in 2001 that they couldn't allow a faction of wrestlers under a brand they OWNED to look good against the WWF. absolutely insane IMO..... just unreal.....the $$$ Vince flushed here was unreal. the proof is ion the ratings and buyrates which were declining by Summerslam 2001 and it COULD have worked with what he had.

This just sounds like ECW all over again.
