I got the best of In Your House dvd and there is a match on it with Austin and HHH where J.R keeps having audio difficulties with his mic and he keeps having a go at Vince who is alongside him with Lawler commentating. It was one of the funniest things ever i couldnt stop laughing everytime J.R's mic would cut out it got funnier and funnier it really looked like J.R was legit pissed with Vince because there was so much bickering between the two of them it was like Lawler was trying to keep the peace. This is the first time i seen this so can someone give me some insight as to what was going on with that, was there some sort of commentating feud between Vince and J.R lol? It was really strange ive never seen J.R behave like that.

It was during ross' failed heel turn. This was the night before he gave a worked shoot interview on raw about being fired due to bells palsy and brought back the fake razor Ramon (and then diesel too).

JR's heel run was some weird booking. From what I've seen of it at least.

Austin wrestled Triple H in the opener.

It was the opening match to "Buried Alive" in 1996. you beat me to it!! JRs heel turn was dreadful......just like the fake Razor & Diesel. Still the marks in WCW gave Hall & Nash a fat raise when they heard JRs boasts because they thought they were gonna use their opt outs and go back.

His promos were really good. They guy is a great mic man (as well as commentator.) The problem I think he had with the heel turn is promising to bring back Diesel and Razor and then having two impostors show up. If JR would have brought in Glenn Jacobs and Rick Bognar as a monster heel tag team w/ another gimmick, I think he would have been more successful.

The best part about it is Jim Ross saying "That's called wristlock, Vince."
Also, when he points out that for every near fall Vince goes "1...2...did he get him? No."

One of my favourite In Your House PPV's, but it always bugged me that Shawn didn't defend the title on the actual show, but I've heard rumours that he defended the title against Goldust in a dark match, so why not just do it on the actual show?

Maybe it was the fake Outsiders that torpedoed the whole deal......honestly I hadn't considered that. Maybe the whole thing requires reviewing on my part. Cornette's take on this idea is priceless.....everyone should hear it.

I've never heard that. I thought Shawn refused to work with Goldie

There was a lot of speculation that Goldust was meant to be HBKs opponent @ IYH: Mind Games but HBK wouldn't work with Goldust.....
Hall was horrified he had to work with and lose to the Goldust character. Nash has said a few times that he hated it as well. The overtly homosexual tones of the Goldust character apparently horrified the Kliq.
Eitherway it worked out for the best that HBK got Mankind @ Mind Games.

The overtly homosexual tones of the Goldust character apparently horrified the Kliq.. And yet Michaels had no qualms wearing entrance gear that made him look like a bedazzled member of the Village People. Go figure.

Go figure. yup.......LOL Cornette reckons that the catcalls for HBK were becoming quite loud in the mid summer onwards and HBK was paranoid that the Goldust character would be cheered on PPV or TV.

Beat out only by Lawler because he was my first huge wrestling attraction) looking back at his entrance gear now, it really is horrible. I thought it was the coolest thing ever as a kid though.

They did have a program that was basically done at house shows, it just never got put on RAW or PPV
