Not only was the show picked up to series today, but...it looks fantastic...
Loving the characters so far (except Penguin, I really wish they would have at the very least, cast a fat actor)
Between this, and Sleepy Hollow -- Fox is coming out swinging in the action/drama genres.

Wow that was surprisingly impressive..
It looks like it has a ton of potential, and that cast is excellent.

More Donal Logue on the screen is best for business

Ben Mckenzie is a gret choice IMO. But what I don't understand is how FOX can have this when CW has had the lock on the live action DC shows. Just seems odd. And they got this wrote, casted, shot, and edited heaps fast.
It looks to have potential. The Cat seems a little out of place. But I reckon we can work with that.

More Donal Logue on the screen is best for business Agreed wholeheartedly. I think they may be cramming too many bat villain origins, but maybe it won't be to bad in context of the series. Just so long as we never see Joker. Unless of course the show runs long enough to have Batman appear.

I'm cautiously optimistic, because the Logue/Mackenzie pairing could be the greatest thing ever, but I'm not very encouraged by that trailer.

I had below zero expectations for this show, but I'll be dammed if I wasn't kinda hyped up after seeing that.

Surprisingly looks good. But please Fox, don't have The Joker show up..... Please.... Why not... Because Ledger is irreplaceable... Just like when Dark Knight was coming out and everyone said Ledger would be a terrible Joker.. No one could replace Jack as the Joker... I say Bring on the NEXT JOKER!

Because Joker only exists because Batman exists. I don't care who Joker was before he was Joker, and we shouldn't see who Joker was before he was Joker. That's part of the fun. If Batman shows up in this series, than fine give us Joker, but I don't want to see a pre-Joker show up.

There have been many re-hash of the stories. Batman was a kid when The Joker first started his crimes. I'm all for seeing a young joker. I think it would be EPIC!

For me personally, all of Batmans villains became villains because of Batman himself. I'll let is slide for the other villains, because they won't be costumed/will be their alter-egos, but to me Joker should just be left alone. I'm sure I'm not alone in that, and I'm sure others disagree. I for one will be upset if Joker shows up, especially if he shows up as his pre-Joker identity, which should definitely be left a mystery. " if I'm going to have a past, I prefer it to be multiple choice!"

I forget where I read it, but the show runners basically said that for now, they have no intention of having Batman appear, HOWEVER -- if the show were to run long enough (I'd assume at least 8 seasons, given the character's starting age) -- Batman would/could be brought in to either carry on in the show, or be an even stronger side character, and the villains would be "upgraded" to follow suit.
For now, I'm cool with this. There are a couple good seasons worth of quality crime bosses in Batman mythos to start with, before really HAVING to intro any super villains...
And I'm in the same boat. No Joker. I don't want to see him, Bane, Ra's, Talia...those are villains there for Batman. They either know who Batman is, helped create him, or are his antithesis. They're not "villains for cops of Gotham to fight" villains. They're villains that need Batman to stop them.

For those who are completely against having The Joker in this series (and wow are there ever a lot of you) prepare to be upset, as they do infact plan on having The Joker in the series.
I remember reading in an interview somewhere that, if all goes according to plan, the last scene of the final episode of this show will have Bruce Wayne don the cape if you will, and becoming Batman.
Trailer looks epic, can't wait for the premiere!
