I should start off by saying I've never seen him wrestle so I don't know if he's even any good in the ring or on the mic. I'm only going by the promos and his debut last night.
Am I the only one who thinks this gimmick is terrible? It seems like the crowd didn't know how to react to him. From all the promos, I thought this whole rave/ecstasy/party gimmick was supposed to be heel. Is he supposed to appeal to kids?
Thoughts?

I got to see him in person several times as Leo Kruger. Guy has talent.
I'm also very confused as to what this new character is going to achieve. I don't think it's a terrible gimmick, but this could go south VERY quickly if he doesn't hit the ground running. My guess? He'll be tagging with Fandango or Santino soon.

Good thing he didn't tell Swagger to be a Rose bud because Swagger would have thought of a different type of bud...

Nope you aren't the only one. I don't see how this gimmick (Party Bus) will work in this era. To me he sounds and acts like Russell Brand. I think that's the actors name.

I loved him in NXT and he has the exact same gimmick. Although he has a different entourage in NXT and the "arena" is much smaller and more intimate.
Last night, he felt kind of flat. No where near as fun as he is in NXT. I think a lot of it has to do with his entourage. Last night it looked like models that were dressed funny. In NXT he's with some really weird people. In NXT, there's guys in bodysuits, a Luchadore looking guy, a guy with a curly mustache that wears a fez hat and this Where's Waldo kind of outfit, a big dude with a beard underwear and Roman armor, and a bunch of other crazy people. It looked too polished last night and that takes away from the charm of the gimmick.

How on earth did you think he was supposed to be a heel? He's a fun face who wants everyone to get on board the exotic express and have fun.
I'm not sure if it's an internet thing, but people now a days seem to only want these serious characters. There's nothing wrong with fun gimmicks, that's what made the mid-card so enjoyable in the past.
I don't think it fell flat, I mean he had the audience singing along to his music before he even spoke. Although I must admit, I was expecting the exotic express to drive into the arena and his entourage to come out of it. Him vs Swagger should be good, his playful humour played against the straight serious style of Zeb and Swagger.

Come on man, don't be a lemon... BE A ROSEBUD! I liked him as Leo Kruger. He can go. I haven't made a final decision on the gimmick yet though. I THINK I like it.

I don't mind him, but I mostly like his entrance. He's a great wrestler and could be upper mid-card if used right. Unfortunately, I see him going the Fandango route.

It has a 'Zoolander' feel. He gives a 'Blue Steel' look a lot.

I think this reaction was exactly what WWE was worried about when they had second thoughts about the gimmick.

I love the party scene so the character appeals to me a lot, But like I said in another thread until he's doing coke off a strippers nipple he cant party.
Although the gimmick could be quite cool I love his catchphrases, dont be a lemon be a rose bud, I like how strange it sounds, I like how everyone does his theme tune, I love the randomness of having a dude in a bunny costume and the little people 'n stuff. But I cant see it going anywhere in the PG era..

Not exactly PG, which is why I assumed he was supposed to be a heel. How well do these comedy gimmicks work these days? Fandango, Los Matadores, Brodus Clay, Santino Marella, Sweet T, etc. all accomplished nothing in the long run. As long as you realize no long-term good will come of this and his ceiling is basically main eventing Superstars, there's nothing wrong with it.

I was sold as soon as I heard him tell a bunny to be a rosebud.

I thought last night was painful to watch. I actually felt bad for the guy because it came off so awkward. I've been saying since I saw him in NXT that the gimmick won't translate to arenas and I think we saw that last night. He's new though so you never know if the song will continue to catch on with fans. It seems like maybe he'll feud with Swagger right out of the gate, which would certainly help imo. I don't think he's a good worker, at all, and if the gimmick doesn't get over pretty quickly then he's going to disappear.

I actually think they did a poor job with the camera work last night (for the Adam Rose debut), as the "entourage" didn't come off as very big or fun (even though I'll bet it probably was). Some better or clever camera angles could have made the "party" look bigger on TV.
I think the gimmick is great, but it seemed to fall flat both on television and for the live crowd - and I wonder what they'll do at house shows? I doubt they'll want to ship these guys around to all the local venues... maybe they'll use local talent? The entire thing will flop without the cool entrance...
With a little tweaking - this has the potential to be a lot of fun.... and the dude's already got a neat catch phrase, as well as a song the crowd can sing along with....
I'm looking forward to Adam Rose.... I hope he doesn't go down the same road as Ziggler, Sandow, & Ryder....

As long as you realize no long-term good will come of this and his ceiling is basically main eventing Superstars, there's nothing wrong with it. He is full of himself, but with charm and humour, and it's never at the extent of putting anyone else down, it's not like saying "I'm better than you" it's saying "I'm the life and soul of the party", very different. Any subtleties of drug use are very subtle indeed, he's not said anything to imply he's on drugs, certainly not anything that children will pick up on. Bright colours, dancing to the ring with giant bunny rabbits and a lollypop singing along to his theme...Pretty PG stuff for a kid to enjoy. I think Fandango is the most fair character to compare this to, although he's heel and a little more serious. Fandango is fine at being Fandango, he's entertaining, he can be put into storylines, he can hold mid card titles and it would be perfectly fine. If they keep letting him do promos and actually give him storylines, then there's plenty of entertainment to be had from Adam Rose, without him having to win a world title or be in the main event.
