I know we've probably had some HHH threads lately, but I haven't really seen any in a bit, so I wanted to share my opinion on the matter. A lot of people are upset with HHH "being in the spotlight again." While I'm aware that he has put himself into some big storylines to be relevant, he does it for the greater good - you know, best for business. For the sake of this thread, let's focus from SummerSlam '13 to now. I'm not saying that he doesn't have an ego to feed, cause I'm sure he does. However, I think since some people are so focused on disliking his character and 'burials', they look passed how great he really is; on the mic, in the ring, and working the crowd. He's not only a great heel, but he's this generations Vince McMahon, and he's perfect for it. Even if you are aggravated with him in the main picture, hey, at least he plays the role well and makes it intriguing. He may be cutting promos a lot again, but unlike how he was in 2003, he's not mainly putting himself over. I mean, he does put himself over, but at the expense of putting younger talent over in the long run. I know he may have his stack of shovels from 10 years ago, but this is now. With losing twice in the same night at WMXXX (I say twice since Bryan overcame him at the end too) and once again at ER, of course he's gonna need the upper hand on RAW sometimes. Contrary to what people may believe, Triple H knows what he's doing, and he's doing damn well at it. I'm not saying he's perfect nor is he my favorite, however, I definitely believe the WWE is in good hands. Thoughts?

In the Vince/Austin story there were times that Vince had the upper hand and times he didn't. He had final say, so it happened. It made for some great ratings so it continued. The story doesn't work if the underdog gets the evil boss every time so it works for me. Triple H is polished on the mic and it doesn't sound forced.
Behind the scenes, strictly looking at Fall of 2013, he's had a rocky start. It seems like he was given the reigns right there and struggled right away. He made it to the winter and storylines started improving. Then the Rumble happened and that's where his thought process was revealed: He is willing to make adjustments when changes are obviously needed. There was a time that regardless of how that PPV ended, Batista would have gone to WM and won the title. There would have been a small pocket of the Universe that would have cheered him, but overall it would have been ugly. I feel optimistic for decisions going forward. There are still going to be big hits and bigger misses, but the direction feels better then it's been for a while.

This heel bunghole Authority run is the best he's been in years, maybe ever. He's finally embracing the character the internet thought he was. He may be a step off wrestling wise but he's still above average in the ring. As long as he continues to get his comeuppance in the end, I see his involvement to be a positive one.

I had my doubts that the Daniel Bryan angle was going to have a "happy ending" so to speak. I didn't know whether to blame Triple H or Vince himself for that, but I was frustrated for a very long time. I give WWE credit for playing it out more or less perfectly in the end, whether it was the plan all along or not.
Triple H being around is perfectly fine with me. He's doing incredible work on the mic, and he can still get it done in the ring. I'll never complain about having a guy like that around. Is he "taking up space"? Sure. But, he's also put Daniel Bryan and The Shield over huge in the last month and a half or so.
He's an absolutely fantastic heel that gets under your skin even when you like the guy. There were times I wanted to reach through my TV and strangle him during the Bryan feud. That's incredible work - to have me so invested and into it that I forget that I'm just watching a show. I'm so glad he's getting a full blown heel run again. He was a babyface for far too long.

IMO he is doing great.
He is killing it on the Mic and he has been great in ring vs D-Bry & The Shield. so no complaints for me. Some folks complained that he didn't take the pin @ ER but they are saving that I feel.

Triple H puts himself in the spotlight because he knows that he draws. He's doing it to put on a good show, entertain the crowd and get some great storylines going. He always gets a massive reaction from the crowd whether it's a huge pop or major heat, the guy can draw it all. He's definitely one of the best heels in the business and has been for the past 10-15 years. If you think about it, who else would really be able to put asses in seats in his position? Randy Orton, Batista and John Cena are probably the top names, along with Daniel Bryan at the minute. You've got Kane who's pretty much the most flexible talent on the roster. He can be in the lower card or the biggest main event, that's why he's such an asset. But you put Triple H in a big match on a card, people will pay to see it. I truly believe that he's a guy who, when his time is up, he'll admit it and step out of the spotlight. But as long as he's over and putting on good matches, why wouldn't he put himself in the big spot? This run as the Authority figurehead has been one of his best ever. He's that guy that you just love to hate. It makes for great TV.

Never really was a fan of his, but one thing I'll admit is when his a heel very can touch him in terms of heat. As for behind the scenes stuff I think WWE is in safe hands as he knows if something isn't working and will change it( as proven with the Rumble situation) if it needs to be.

I don't hate him, but I don't really care for him either. There are times I find him really entertaining and other times where I would just wish he would get off my tv.

He still legitimizes the product. He's that damn good. Mic work is excellent. Ring work is still fine for a guy his age and his body type.
Everyone benefits from being involved with Triple H in a WWE ring.

People need to come to terms with it. Triple H isn't the evil manacle super villain the internet portrays him to be. He's not trying to rule the world and he certainly isn't trying to ruin wrestling. And no matter how hard they try to convince you otherwise, Triple H is a draw. He adds name value.

IMO he is doing great. He is killing it on the Mic and he has been great in ring vs D-Bry & The Shield. so no complaints for me. Some folks complained that he didn't take the pin @ ER but they are saving that I feel. They are saving HHH getting pinned for Roman Reigns, likely at SummerSlam or whenever that singles match happens. HHH will likely get a few wins, or at worst the upper hand leading into a singles match and then Reigns will go over HHH in an effort to elevate him to the next level. Evolution vs The Shield has been awesome. The idea of it was awesome, the execution has been awesome and I look for it to continue to be awesome. I don't know the limits of what he does and doesn't control backstage but I think the product is really good right now. We have some major feuds in Cena vs Wyatt, The Shield vs Evolution, and Bryan vs Kane going on. Then the mid card is seemingly being reestablished with two new title holders even though I don't like either champion. So it feels like there is more of an emphasis being put on the entire show, versus just the top of the card. Ziggler has gotten a breadcrumb over the last couple of weeks, the tag champions are good, and even acts like 3MB are being featured. Plus the influx of the new talent has been nice even though I don't think it's going to workout longterm for some of them. It feels like true variety and like a little bit of something is going on for everyone.

Triple H is "in the spotlight" but he is not the main event and he's putting over and working with younger guys. I am fine with his current role completely.

He doesn't bother lately. I actually don't mind having him around. Plus I love what he's doing with NXT and whenever Vince decides to retire, Triple H will do just fine running WWE.

Triple H is one of the best wrestlers of his or any generation. The guy was really overemphasized from 2003-2005, and contrary to popular belief, he REALLY didn't need to be. But the guy is obviously doing what he feels is best for business, no pun intended, and does care about crowd reaction. He has a far better mind for wrestling than Vince in his borderline senility, and is leading the company to its best time in years. As far as wrestling and mic skills? He didn't really get to demonstrate much at ER but he was excellent at WrestleMania, and he hasn't won any of his matches since Wrestlemania 29 (and has won two matches out of the last 8 since Wrestlemania 27 when he took upon a less wrestling oriented role). The guy only uses himself to push people these days and I don't know how anyone could hate his current incarnation.
